Aspire X1430 endless reboot

I'm having a strange problem with my Acer Aspire X1430. I can turn it on for the first time and it runs for about 3-5 minutes, operating normally, then it shuts down and starts trying to reboot. It it doesn't even make it to the post screen, it just turns on then off repeatedly until I pull the power cord. I have replaced the power supply, tried new ram (first in one slot then the other) and tried running it without the CDROM (everything else is integrated), checked to make sure the CPU fan is running, but nothing solves my problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've also tried a slightly more powerful power supply (300W as opposed to the 220W that came with the system) and I've replaced the CMOS battery and reset the BIOS to default settings... all with no luck.

I can't get to that point... by the time the system loads from the os disk and I'm able to get into a dos screen the reboot starts.

Ok..pulled the drive out and put it into another computer... scan completed with no errors detected. I've double checked all the connections and now I'm out of ideas.

Does this happen in safemode? You should try safe mode and if it does go into safemode, select safe mode with networking.

First try the "last known good configuration, the most recent setting that worked"

If that doesn't do the trick, navigate to device manager and check to see if there are any malfunctioning  device drivers. If there are, uninstall them and reininstall them preferably from the device or computer manufacturer's support page.If you recently installed a driver update from windows update i would suggest you roll it back to the previously installed driver.

IF the problem is not resolved, open a command prompt window and type " chkdsk /f /r" without the quotes and if promptet to schedule a disk check for the next restart, type "Y", EXIT and restart you computer.

Note: You may want also to check event viewer for any andications of a problem.
