1-Download and unzip the v1.03 zip file from the Acer download page.

2- Further extract the FH5VQ103.EXE to yield the 'abobios.bin' binary file ~9.8MB size.

3-Rename the abobios.bin to FH5VQx64.FD. Copy the FD file to the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB stick with an LED activity indicator.

4- Turn your PC off. Plug charger in and wait for battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue.

    5- Insert USB stick.

6- Press and hold FN+ESC keys. While still holding the keys, short press power button to turn machine on. Continue to hold keys until you see USB LED activity.

7-If successful, the LED will blink for about 3 minutes and the machine will probably shut off automatically.

You must have a functional fully-charged battery pack and a 3.1 volt or greater CMOS button cell installed, and the laptop plugged in. Or the flash will fail.

Yes BUT a fully-charged functional battery pack must also be installed.
