Acer Predator Helios 16 PHN16-71-59F1 What does the Turn Off the Display in Acer Power Button do?

I stumbled on the setting "Turn Off the Display" in Acer Power Button. I tried to click it but nothing happened apparently. I initially thought that it would be good to indeed turn of the display temporarily while the apps run in the background to at least save some power and/or reduce eye strain.

What exactly does this button do?

    Thanks for the information, your computer is compatible with Windows 11, it is not the problem, I also have Windows 11 (insider version for beta tester) on my Aspire 7, which is not compatible with Windows 11 and everything is working correctly.

    Do you open it from Quick Access or by pressing the on/off button for 2 seconds? Try it both ways.

    There is a new version of Quick Access from March, if this is not the version you have, download and install on top of the current one (do not uninstall it):

    Many of these QA settings are superseded by S0 Modern Standby protocol in Windows11 and by the latest versions of Acer BIOS. Use Balanced Power Plan and reset to factory default (red box on picture below)

    and you will be OK. If you want to turn off the display press F1 (Zzz) that may be a different key on your model. This is Sleep Mode. The only use of Acer Quick Access app is the Caps Lock, Num Lk screen pop ups and to control the Touchpad on/off key. For eyestrain there is the Night Light option (right click on any icon in the notification area at the right side the taskbar) you can adjust the strength in Settings:

    Indeed, that button turns off the screen, it works for me on an old Aspire 7.

    Hey. I have the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 and it has Windows 11. The turn of screen doesn't work for me idk

    It is the power key setting. You have to press the power key for three seconds. Two seconds is not enough.

    Two seconds is enough for the screen to appear, with more time, the device goes to sleep or turns off depending on how the shutdown button is configured.

    This is how it works on my device, but it may be different on other models.
