Swift Go 16 - Audio from the in-built speakers not working

Hey everyone,

Just 5 days back I bought this laptop and just now I installed 19 drivers out of total 22 listed on the Acer website but still there is no sound coming out of the laptop though microphone is working.

3 drivers that did not get install and threw error codes:

  1. Audio Utility DTS driver (screenshot attached)

2. VGA utility drvier (screenshot attached)

3. When I tried to install VGA Intel, it showed "Unknown" publisher. So, I denied.

Not sure if any of these 3 is causing the issue with the audio.

Kindly help.

It's frustrating to see such a common feature not working in a newly purchased and an expensive laptop on the Day 1.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks

Manu

You should not have installed any drivers, probably there is a driver mismatch now. Uninstall all Unknown Devices and drivers with yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager, check also the hidden devices in Device Manager. Make sure that Internet is on and reboot, Windows11 will install automatically the correct drivers. If you cannot get it to work, I recommend bringing your laptop to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to factory defaults.

You don't say just which laptop you have, but I believe it's likely one of the many SFG16-71 SKUs. Once you have let Windows Update do it's thing, go ahead and look at sound settings and post pictures here. Specifically the output device settings and volume settings.

Thanks Puraw and Billsey for taking the time to help.

    Billsey,

The issue got resolved when I checked output settings in Sound.

It was default set to USB3 to HDMI and I was a noob to not have this checked by myself is in the first place.

    Done now.

And, by the way, you're right, it's SFG16-71 SKUs only.

    Well, Puraw,

as far as the driver-mismatch is concerned, I scanned through the entire Device Manager (including hidden) as you suggested and did not find any Yellow mark.

So, I believe it was just the wrong setting in Output settings.

    Thanks to both.
