@ArshJordan yours should support that 140W charger but it won't be enough under heavy loads.

so like can I connect a PD 140w type-C charge to this laptop because that 330w charger is a pain to carry around

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that, I use my Helios Predator 16 (13900HX and RTX4080) for development purposes as well as gaming, when doing development I only use the Intel GPU, I also wondered about disabling the efficiency cores, if that would enable lower power use as less cores running or if because it means high power corres are always running that the overall effect would be higher power. As you mention, the 330W adapter is rather large/heavy to carry around, so being able to power the laptop when out and about doing development only would be really useful.

assuming your laptop model is Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71): Yes this model has 2 x USB-C ports both wih Thunderbolt 4, Power Delivery (PD). Thunderbolt4 supports up to 100-Watt power, I recommend a 90-Watt USB charger for fast charging, any of these USB chargers will work for your laptop: https://www.zdnet.com/article/best-usb-c-laptop-charger/

The 140W charger will charge your new Predator Helios Neo PHN16 or Predator Helios PH16 as it supports charging via USB-C, but this charger may not keep the battery topped up if you’re gaming at the same time.

Hi, has anyone tried this? I dont have a decent or compact USB-C charger, so if this works I wanted to purchase one, so would be good to know if this works, if it can maintin a charge whilst playing games and if just using the integrated GPU if it can indeed charge the laptop whilst it is being used.

Also what power USB-C charger would be a good fit for the Predator Helius Laptop?

I have the 13900HX CPU and RTX 4080 GPU

I just ordered the 140 watt USB-C charger that includes a 240 watt capable cord, but I notice that it has an output for 100W max or 140 watt. Not sure if I could use either or if it would make any difference. Guess I'll find out as the info is not very clear for my Helios 16.

I have 2 x 2023 laptops without DC barrel ports, the last one is the new Acer Swift X they both come with laptop USB-C chargers only, one 90-Watt and the Swift with a 100-Watt charger. I recommend a 100-Watt USB-C charger like this on: ,https://store.acer.com/en-us/100w-adapter-kit-with-power-cord but for gaming you may want to use your barrel port brick power adaper: https://www.pcworld.com/article/394700/usb-c-charger-why-you-dont-want-one-for-your-gaming-laptop.html

These are all the new Predator range of laptops charger adapters, and none have USB-C dedicated chargers they are all barrel plug chargers. They range from 330W to 230W adapters and if you have these gaming laptop, it is recommended to use a charger that is specifically designed for your laptop. While there are USB-C chargers available in the market, they may not be able to provide enough power to charge and operate your laptop at the same time. According to a PCWorld article, most gaming laptops require more than 100 watts of power, which is the maximum power output of current USB-C chargers. The article also warns against using USB-C chargers for gaming laptops as they may not provide enough power to run the laptop at full performance. Good luck and hope this helps all of you out.
