There are 963, 1300, 1650, 1750 and an 1851 version of the Aspire C24 series. type in Acer Support Drivers "aspire C24 xxxx" (your full model number) and look for Intel/Atheros Wireless LAN Driver and Realtek LAN Driver. Check in Device Manager or System info what type of WIFI adapter you have.

    Thanks Puraw,

There are no WAN or Lan drivers showing in device manager.

I put in my snid, downloaded Realtek Lan driver, extracted all files double clicked on the Set file the screen gave a blip and nothing happened no lan in device manager after a computer restart.

I think I'll try the Intel Atheros and see what happensl

Tried Atheros extracted files double clicked file it came up seemed to load, but it is not in device manager, same for Realtek download.

With Atheros, I double clicked on the setup file.

The network adapter might be missing simply because Device Manager doesn’t display it. Here is how you can make the network adapter visible:

    Right-click Start > Device Manager.
Open the View menu and click Show hidden devices.
Expand the Network adapters list and check if the adapter is now visible.
If the adapter is still missing, click Action > Scan for hardware changes.

Try this too: Boot to BIOS with F2, Reset BIOS with F9, save settings on exit.

    Thanks Puraw,

I'm beginning to wonder if it could be a router problem, a reset may be in order.

Checked all your suggestions, to no avail.

It will have to wait until tomorrow morning.

    Cheers

I suggest resetting Network first the run the Network and Internet Troubleshooter. If nothing helps do: "Reset this PC without losing your files".

    Thanks again,

Reset the pc and still nothing.

I have two televisions plugged into ethernet, one directly from the router and the other from a Netgear switch which is connected to the router as well.

Open Device Manager, turn on Show hidden devices as suggested above, then expand the Network adapters section and post a screen shot of that. I find it easiest to use the Windows-Shift-S key combo, the lasso the section you wish to capture. When you have done that you can just paste into the editor here:

Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

    Thank you billsey,

I have done that and nothing ethernet shows.

Acer support suggest I pay £60 to send the machine for inspection and then a quote for repair.

I have purchased an external ethernet adapter, so will try that and post the result here.

Installed the Ethernet adapter, installed drivers from cd.

    (The drivers were Realtek.)

Computer back on interenet via ethernet.

    Problem solved
