hey
i just wanna ask if opening the outer case of a nitro 5 laptop would void the warranty for the hardware ?
i think my cpu might be faulty because its overheating alot "reaching up to 70s on idle" even though fans are working properly and the pc is new "6 months old"

so would they charge me when i take it because i opened the outer case or is that ok ?

note: there was no sealing sticker or anything on it

Why do you want to open the laptop? If you plan to remove the fans and heatsink for cleaning, yes that would void the warranty. 70°C on idle is normal, the CPU can sustain 100°C. If you worry much about heat, get a powerful 5-fan cooling pad the size of your laptop and reduce the Maximum Processor Power state when plugged-in to 95% in Advanced Power Plan settings, use Balanced Power Plan Not High or Ultra High Performance. If you get average temperatures of 95°C (not peaks) I suggest bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country to renew the thermal paste and check/clean the fans and heatsinks.

I already opened the case couple times already to clean the fans, i didnt think it would be an issue to the warranty I just realized that recently, and yes the pc is averaging at above 90 if i am gaming which i think is concerning considering its still new.

my biggest concern is that the pc would have some faulty hardware maybe the cpu or motherboard thats causing it to overheat like that and they would decline to replace them because i opened the outer lid.

note i didnt touch anything from the inside i just cleaned the dust from the outer surface of the fan

Depending on the CPU, 90°C when gaming is normal, browse the web with your full laptop model number and check some reviews:
    2.85 GHz @ 3.07 GHz @ 80°C @ 85W is standard for an515-58 with an i5 CPU.

It depends in what country you live, in the Philippines Acer Services will check the laptop and IMO even when opened repair the unit if faulty under warranty.
