This is a setting in the Acer BIOS (S0-S3), I don't believe Linux uses BIOS?

@Puraw No, there is no setting in bios even I use ctrl+s to show hidden configuration on my Aspire Vero laptop.

Read about Power States and Linux in Wikipedia:

I am not familiar with Linux and will let others comment on your questions.

No You're going to have to do a hard reset on it I described it in another post you're going to have to unplug a CMOS and a regular battery after you take the bottom off you unplugged a CMOS it's not soldered then you unplug the big one wait about 10-15 minutes plug them back in starting with the big battery first plug it in then the CMOS put it back together then flip it over do not try to turn it on oh this is after you unplug everything from it do not have anything connected, forgot to mention that, but then you flip it over do not try to turn it on press and hold Ctrl alt delete until the keyboard flashes pay attention cuz it's not going to be very bright turn let the keyboard flash then let off plug it in do not try to turn it on still plug it in do not touch it until the blue light comes on trust me this will work cuz I kind of did the same thing with kabuntu too that I had on a USB after I lost my windows system and then finally when I tried to do my windows reinstall it would not work and then it like I don't know went to a security feature where it would not turn on once I turned it off it did not turn back on again until I did that procedure and I guess if you let it go dead all the way it'll do that like a hibernation mode or if you have something plugged in when it dies or I think it has something to do with if you're trying to ***** with Linux too I mean Microsoft some weird people they put some weird stuff in their programs. And if anybody was wondering these do charge with the USB C chargers has to be at least 65 w it says but I've used my daughter's Chromebook charger which is only 45 but it works don't listen to what people say read the manual the manual says straight in the ***** thing that it does in the first section but when you go under the actual specifications of USBC it does not mention it but it does it will charge.
