Take pictures of the status LEDs to show us just which light is coming on. Also tell us which Swift X model you bought. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFXxx-xxx-xxxx. It's possible you got a bad one, but not too likely.

OK, so it is showing that the battery is fully charged and the laptop has not been turned on. That tends to point toward a problem with the power button itself. Go ahead and return it to Amazon and grab another, they'll deal with sending it back to Acer for repair. If it's been too long since purchase to send it back Acer will fix it under warranty for you, but that takes longer than just a swap.

yes, alas, it's been a long time since i got the laptop to return it to amazon I would like Acer to fix this. when i found that the laptop won't turn on, i opened its lid to see what could be the problem, but i didn't find anything, could this be a warranty denial?

If there is no warranty repair issue, how can I send my laptop to Acer for repair? And how long will the repair take?

Try to do the Soft Reset like instructed below:

If the above doesn't work then do a Hard Reset by undoing the back cover and take the 11xT6 screws and the cover off, take the main battery out and disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery.

Then get that same paper clip that you did for the soft reset with and short the +&- pins on the RTC/BIOS battery mainboard plug (where the red/black wires plug is plugged in and shown above in caption) and short the BIOS chip out, as this resets the CMOS, after take the ram out, leave all components disconnected for 15min and reconnect everything, as the above resets the Super IO chip that governs power on/off functions and should reboot the laptop. If it doesn’t then its either the power key button that is faulty or there are issues inside the laptop that Acer warranty needs to fix.

Your warranty should not be voided unless you have broken any Acer fitted warranty stickers and you have broken those, so send your laptop to Acer in your area so that they can fix your new laptop which should be working perfectly. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Warranty is different in different locales, but usually that shouldn't affect it.

I have great news! before sending the laptop in for repair I decided one last time to see if there were any defects. when removing the battery, I found that the

keyboard cable was not fully connected Plugged it all the way in and it worked!

you were right that the problem is with the power button

Good to hear it was that simple of a fix. :) Sometimes it's worth putting a piece of tape over the connector to help keep it in place…
