Aspire ES1-572 not installing Windows 10 (Copying files at 0%)

Hello, I am trying to install Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire ES1-572 Notebook. I recently installed a new SSD and I inserted a Windows 10 install USB. I follow all the steps on the installer as always, and I select the SSD to install Windows on. After that, the typical install screen appears, and the first step "Copying Windows Files", that should pass rather quickly, doesn't budge. It stays stuck at 0%, even after leaving it for hours. I have changed the SSD, and changed the USB drive, and nothing seems to work.

If anyone can give me a hand, I'd be very grateful, I just don't know what to do anymore...

Hi @GasparB123 how did you create that USB, from the Microsoft download page and with its creation tool?
Is the drive clean or does it contain other system or application remnants?
Connect the equipment to the power charger.

    Thank you.
    All the best.

Yes, I tested all 3 USB Ports (The 3rd one is kinda busted, but it still works) and all give the same result.

I created it using Rufus, which works perfectly with everything else. The USB Drive and the SSD are both clean (the SSD is new, just bought). And I believe the battery is dead, beacause I connect the charger to the notebook and the battery charged light blinks orange, and it doesn't conserve a charge.

Check the 2.5" SATA pug of your mainboard if its making full contact with the new 2.5"SSD drive or install the Win-10 OS onto the M.2 SATA SSD drive that this laptop can accommodate, as and if your Win-10 doesn't Install then its either the USB installation media that is faulty or the 2.5" SSD drive that you are trying to install onto is faulty or not connected 100%.

@GasparB123 you can try to recreate Windows installation by using Windows 10 media creation tool.

Heyy guys, sorry for taking so long to respond. To be honest I've tried so many things I kinda got tired and took a step back for a few days, tried to recalibrate my head a bit XD.

The SSD appears to be making good contact, and it is recognized by the BIOS as a SATA Drive. And during the Windows instalation process, the disk is properly partioned and ready for install, but gets stuck at "Copying Windows Files".

I recently tried to install Windows 10 on a different computer in the same drive. It worked fine. After the install I shut down the computer, disconnected the SSD and put it in the Acer notebook. It didn't even recognize the SSD as a boot option.

I still haven't tried it, as I installed Windows 10 on the SSD, using the Rufus USB Drive, on the other computer with no issues. But I don't have any other options for now. I even tried taking out and reseating the RAM just in case and no dice.

  • Can you tell me the model of the ssd? usb port?

It's a Kingston A400, a normal cheap SATA SSD. And I have tried using the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports and none work. It's really weird.

PS. Sorry it's been so long, I had exams and need some time to think what to do with this computer. I'm back and trying again.

Make sure that you have tried to wipe the USB and recreate the Windows installation with the Windows 10 media creation tool.
