im gonna ask for help here be cause idk where i have to put this kind of issues. The problem is that my computer get frozen or just restart when i try to play some games (even with gba emulator of games from browsers). i did a lot of things to solve this problem: reinstaled windows 10, installed windows 11, fabric restoration, installed linux (nobara project). Be cause nothing of that fixed the problem i started to do some test for every component in my notebook to check if there was a problem but every component checked with different programs (memtest64, burnin test, user benchmark, crystaldisk info, furmark etc etc) was right. That makes me though that it was a problem with drivers so i checked and installed every driver from acer page and used a recomended programs (driver booster) to check if there was some outdated drivers , and again, the problem wasn's solved. Idk what else i can check or what to do (even in the tech support didn't now what was the problem). the errors in game were d3d device being lost or rendering device lost (again all says that it was gpu problem but remember, all components were good). hope someone takes the time to read and help me if they can. thanks

Have you installed the last bios version 1.18 - 1. Modify setup menu PTP default setting to Advance if OS type is Linux. Date: 2020/08/18, if you haven't then do that as that should fix allot of the problems that you have as it will apply all the other bios fixes that Acer has done for this laptop. Make also sure that you have done a complete Clean Install of Win-11 and formatted the boot drive completely and cleanly. With the premature restart issue, make sure that you don't have any hubs connected to your laptop, as that is a contributor to prmature restsrts or laptops turning off. Also check for faulty ram modules, and for power supply faulty or a faulty battery, as all these factors also contribute to all the freezing and power off failures of your laptop.

have the last version of bios , the installation of win or linux was a clean install (cmd clean disk) . checked ram, battery and all the components (no problems). i use hwmonitor to check components parameters during these errors with 0 variation when the pc get frozen (some times with task manager i see some % usage variation in gpu, cpu and ssd)

A laptop freezing and restarting is usually because of the games that you play just put too much stress on the specs of your laptop, the AN515-42 is a 5-year-old laptop and allot has changed in 5 years and your Nitro is just getting old. The freezing and turning off could come from many components that are a part of your laptop, like power supply, battery and overheating issue, btw I get those sorts of symptoms on my 12 years old Aspire V3-571G when playing games also, as it overheats and can't handle prolonged gaming due to its age, as especially gaming laptops components deteriorate, so consider that, as your AN515-42 is not ;ike it was when it was new.

Even if its old the problem can be fixed by changing the component with problems (have a samsung that has 15 years old working perfectly even with the same games this computer has problems), doing maintenance to the computer or updating components. Like i said i checked every component in the pc and they were all right (the tech support told me the same). power supply checked (the same result as the description of the computer with no variation during the errors), battery ok (yeah, its old and have 85% of the maximun capacity it should have), overheating issue (the max temp when i can play reach 60° to 65° celsius, the max cap is 95° but not even close to that even with furmark that reach a max of 75° celsius). some times i can play with no problems and other times i can't play a simple flash game (i work with autocad to and sometimes have the same problem). I came here to know if there is a perfect test to be able to say wich component is not working, or if i have to install something be cause there are compatibility problems etc etc. In the end i want to know what is wrong with this computer either to fix it or sell it.
