Hey AdityaSinghxd and architectandrew with your Predator G9-793 laptop (as you must have the same problem), just to get this straight, as your Acer Nitro AN515-45 has 2x M.2 SSD drives and provisions for 1x 2.5” SATA-3 drive of these specs:

This is the Nitro AN515-45 full Storage specs:

This is the G9-793 Storage specs

From the info that you have provided above I presume that your boot drive is the Kingsford 256GB – model number OM8PDP3256B-AA1 which is a PCIe 3 x4 type drive and your slave drive that is giving you problems and is disappearing is the 2.5" SATA-3 6GB/s drive of the 1TB Seagate Barracuda mechanical drive model number ST1000LM049-2GH172.

The reason why this 2.5" drive is giving you problems and is disconnecting is because its SATA cable/plug (as you can see below in the highlighted part of the caption) is a very confined space and the SATA cable is twisted into a very small space and you haven't got the HDD cable connected 100% to the mainboard SATA plug and it disconnects and reconnects, hence and why you see the drive sometimes in your OS and sometimes you don't see the drive. Best is to buy a 2TB M.2 SSD drive and use that as a slave drive for your laptop or copy your 2.5" mechanical HDD to the 2nd M.2 SSD drive and use that a your laptops slave drive.

Or if you don't want to go to the above trouble(s) then, take the 2.5" drive out of the laptop and put this 1TB Seagate Barracuda model number ST1000LM049-2GH172 HDD into an external USB enclosure that can be connected to your AN515-45 laptop with a USB type 3.0 plug/cable and use it as an external drive.

I speak from personal experience as I've got a Nitro AN515-56 laptop that has the exact SATA space as your AN515-45 laptop, and its giving me the same problems. with my 2TB Seagate Barracuda 2.5" HDD as its impossible to connect this 2.5" HDD SATA plug/cable to my mainboard SATA plug as its a very bad Acer design.

Open Disk Management in Windows and see if it states Unknown or Not Initialized for the HDD:
    https://www.diskpart.com/windows-10/second-hard-drive-not-detected-in-windows-10-7201.html

Remove the HDD and diagnose it with HWINFO or GSmartControl freeware in a (cheap) USB external HDD case connected to another PC.

Bad HDD Sata cable contact is a likely issue, open the laptop and check the connection, get a new Sata ribbon cable. ($7).

    Nitro AN515-45

This is the model and i checked in crystal disk info it shows that the disk is in good condition

  • Can you tell me the ssd model and bios version?
    Try running this suggestion:

    1. press windows+r, type msconfig, go to system startup, activate safeboot and restart windows.
    2. access the bios, go to the main tab, press ctrl+s, change the sata mode to ahci and press f10 to save and exit.
    3. Afterwards, check whether the problem continues or not.
