Hey guys, I hope you can help me with this issue of mine.
I am currently using an Acer Aspire A315 with the following specifications:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz 1.19 GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.78 GB usable) Dual Channel
GPU: Nvidia MX330
Storage: Samsung SSD and a 1TB HDD

The main issue is that my laptop lags and stutters even on the most basic of games, including indie-developed ones like Mechajammers when it is indicated that my specs are higher than the minimum.

To give a proper depiction of my problem, here is something that I have observed.
Even my old laptop, which has a Pentium processor and 4gb ram, does not stutter on the games that I have tried to play in both to compare them (Hollow Knight, Factorio, etc)

I have tried almost every type of troubleshooting except fresh installing Windows because I simply have a lot of important documents on my laptop.

- My power performance is set to high performance, I have also tried those set to a 90-99% cap in the power plan and it still didn't work.
- Updated and downloaded new drivers for the laptop.
- I have tried setting up every game that I have to its lowest and it is still lagging.
- I have tried playing it in both charging and non-charging, surprisingly it is slower when charging.
- I have nitpicked, optimized, and even to a point removed the recommended bloat apps just to lighten the overall Windows 10 that is installed.

Still, to no avail, I am still struggling with the stutters.
I am no expert so I am not familiar with the complexities of the internals of my laptop, but I have checked upon CPU-Z and compared my device's processor to similar ones and I have seen that mine was performing half of what it is supposed to.

I am honestly at a loss, I hope someone can help me troubleshoot this.

Open Task Manager Performance Tab and check Memory what % of RAM is used, if 90% of your RAM is in use you need to uninstall programs that you don't use. Check if your Ram speed is >2667 MHz if less you are not running in Dual Channel mode and check your DRR4 specs if the 2x4GB are compatible (exactly the same) with the MOBO. How old is your HDD and check the condition with HWINFO.

Thank you for the tips, but as I have said I already have looked into those. I don't have any extra applications since I have already optimized the system, at base I only have around at 15-20% of my laptop ram being used. I am also aware of background application use, which I also disabled for the sake of performance.

my ram also runs in dual channel, exactly same ram model, both is good health but it seems to be only using around 1000mhz in frequency which is odd.

My hdd is also about two years old, and is completely healthy. Same can be said to my ssd.

Still, games are stuttering way beyond they should be even if it's a really old one like skyrim SE.
