Who thought it a good idea to put the SNID and serial number on the BACK of the Aspire C24

The title says it all.

Is there any other way of getting hold of this useful information?

GordonWhitehead you can get the SNID and serial number from the Acer Care Center (Windows 8 and later) which you should have on your Aspire C24 AIO and all your PCs info appears on the opening Acer Care Centre page, so do this:

    1. Press the Windows key.
    2. Type care center and press Enter.
    3. Both serial number and SNID will be displayed in the application.

Also, the above info Alt+V that Jack-E not Jackie😊 gave you is for the Acer Aspire C24 AIO and the Acer Chromebook, as its the same.

I think it's a good idea. I think it's also a good idea that it can be found by press ALT+V after booting. SNID & Chrome version will be listed in the top right corner as notd in this link. Should also be on the UPC label of the original packaging. Yet another good idea. Might be on the original sales documentation too. Maybe a few other places too. I think they're all good ideas. I'm easy to please. 🙂

Well, if you had to turn an All-in-One round with all the wiring it might be attached to, then you might feel it not a good idea. Nowhere does it say about ALT+V in searches on the internet. And how many people save the original packaging or even the label from it?

Nowhere? Guess you gotta google the secret keywords. I for example use 'how do I find my chromebook serial number'.

SNID & Chrome version will be listed in the top right corner as I noted earlier in this link. Gotta click on this link though to see it.

Jackie, I googled on how to find the SNID for an Acer Aspire C24 and nowhere did it come up with Alt+V.

May I also point out that this thread is referring to the Acer Aspire C24 and not to Chrome book so your posts are not answering the question.

Thank you, Steven, and my apologies to Jack-E.

I have tried Alt+V again but it doesn't appear to work either as the three keys Alt+V pressed together (including the shift key to get the + symbol) or pressed as Alt together with V, treating the + as meaning "at the same time", both apparently only opening the View menu on the Firefox browser.

Typing Care Center did work, however. It had failed to work before because I had typed Care Centre, the UK spelling.

Thank you again to you and Jack-E for your answers. I still think that having the numbers on the front of the equipment is a standard all producers of electronic equipment should consider, whether for the home or the office.

Typical nomenclature is "Alt+V" means press the "alt" key and the "V" key at the same time, not the "alt", the "+" and the "V". Alt+V is a shortcut for the ChromeOS, for Windows using Acer Care Center is easiest. They made some of the AIOs with ChromeOS instead of Windows.
