Good evening I'm trying to install the SSD Samsung 970 EVO  Plus on second ssd slot of the Nitro 5 an515-54 . Although:

1)it seems that the device manager acknowledges that there is an SSD 970 evo plus  installed

2) the bios see it as an SSD 970 evo plus

3) the disk management cannot see it

and

I cannot see it on my File Explorer.

I have tried :

1) to install the nvme drivers from samsung for this specific  SSD but I keep on getting the message that there is no Samsung SSD installed

2) change in bios the way the sata sees the SSD to ahci I cannot do it

so I cannot install the drivers .

Any help much appreciated I have spent lots of hours to my laptop trying to solve it

Thanks in advance

The Nitro ANM515-54 has 2x PCIe 3x2 max speed M.2 SSD type slots as the below specs show:

Make sure that you have the last bios installed the Version 1.33 and the IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver Version: 17.5.2.1024 installed as one of the main reasons why an M.2 drive is not recognized in Disk Management is:

    • Your driver needs to update.
    • Troubleshoot your hard disk.
    • Your drive letter is missing.

Try to swap the M.2 drives around and put the boot M.2 drive into the 2nd slot and this new 970 M.2 into the boot slot, see if "Disk Management" see if the 970 M.2 is recognized as it should be, then assign a drive letter and then format it to GUID (GPT) then swap the M.2 drives around. Try all that as after doing all the above your Samsung 970 Plus NVMe M.2 SSD drive should be recognized, if its not then yor M.2 drive is faulty or your laptops M.2 slot is faulty.
