Predator Helios 500 microphone issue.

Basically people cannot hear me when I use Zoom (it’s the only app I use that uses the microphone).

I had weekly Zoom meetings for over three years and never had any issue, however last Friday the microphones stopped working.

As far as I know the settings have not been changed, certainly not by me. The drivers are all up to date according to Intel and Microsoft diagnostic informs me that the microphones are working perfectly.

During my investigation, I discovered it’s not Zoom specific.

if I right click on the taskbar sound icon and select sound/recording settings, I have “Microphone Array” as the default device, and when testing with voice no sound is registered on the sound bar, however if I clap my hands together it registers up to 100%. I have turned the microphone array up to 100 and the microphone boost up to +30dB but it did not improve the situation.

Does anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it please?

Open device manager> find and uninstall microphone> restart laptop and check if issue still present

    @Al62

In order to check whether the microphone is working..

    open chrome

    type www.google.com

you will see google search with microphone symbol

Say amazon, yahoo - If it shows the website , then microphone is working .

    or

    on search type voice recorder

    click on voice recorder

    record the sound

    Try to play the sound

If it is working then microphone is working good

Thanks for the advice GAMING6698, already tried this without success.

Thanks for your reply William_mk2, I use Firefox so need to sign up with Chrome before I can carry out your suggestion, however I'm not following your logic, why would I expect a different result from Google Chrome than Zoom, Device Manager or Microsoft diagnostics?
