Long story short I had some problem with the laptop not turning on, sent it to the service center turns out it got some problems with the mainboard and got it replaced. Luckily it was still under warranty, but a new problem has arisen the fan seems to be always on 51000 RPM which is very loud and annoying.

[Edited the thread to add issue detail]

Below is what I've done so far:

  • Reinstalling Nitrosense
  • Updating bios (from 1.06 to 1.08)
  • Updating drivers

Now here's the unique thing, If I turned off coolboost the fans will quite down like it supposed to do when idling and then it starts to get very loud again reaching 5000 RPM, the same thing will happen if I turn on coolbost. Is this problem something I can fix it myself or not or is there any workaround? Thank you in advance.

If I turned off coolboost the fans will quite down like it supposed to

    RPM,

With CoolBoost still turned off, what triggers it to go full speed from idle? Does the BIOS INFORMATION page correctly identify the laptop as AN515-56?

Just in addition and to help you out some more, I've got and have been using the Nitro 5 AN515-56 for the last 18 months and have virtually used this laptop daily. These laptops are very reliable and in my case never ever overheated or have I ever had problems with it. Maybe your new board has a problem, I would send the laptop back to Acer and get them to fix this problem as the problem is in the new board, as the fans should not be spinning at 5100rpm only if the GPU temp is getting to 86C but the fans should never ever be getting to above 4200rpm even at 98C CPU temps, at CoolBoost and when the CPU is at 98C temps the fans should be spinning at max 4500rpm and when the GPU is at 95C fans should be at max 5500rpm.

This is what my AN515-56 temps are, and what my NS is set at and these temps are always showing, this is after using the laptop for 4 hours continuedly today, I've always got CoolBoost on and they never ever get to the temps and fan speeds that your AN515-56 does with its new board.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't know what triggers it, it goes to full speed after approximately 5-10 seconds, and yes the BIOS still recognize the laptop.

Sorry for the late reply, that is what I'm planning to do but a bit hesitant because the SC is pretty far from where I'm at, hopefully can get it fixed.

Don't allow the warranty to expire on this AN515-56, get your laptop fixed as the cost of fixing these laptops is expensive and if you need to change the motherboard see here for the price of Acer Nitro 5 an515-56 motherboard as its will be USD $450.00 minimum plus technician labour costs.

With CoolBoost still OFF, please post another NitroSense screenshot the moment full-speed happens after 5-10 seconds.

I suspect corrupted NitroSense file(s) and/or folders are not being fully wiped when uninstalled from ControlPanel or re-installed from the downloads page.

Try this. Open Control Panel Programs. Look for any and all references to Acer NitroSense apps or services. Uninstall them all. Then shutdown Windows normally.

Turn the machine back on. Then open FileExplore. Then expand C : \ProgramFiles folder. If there is an Acer subfolder, expand it too. Do you still see any references to NitroSense in the Acer subfolder?
