help!!! My laptop won’t turn on and I’ve tried charging it and nothing. I ended buying a new charger and a new battery and still won’t power on. I have a Predator Helios 300 - Model Number# N18I2. I searched everywhere on how to power reset it and I can’t find an exact answer for my model. I would appreciate any info anyone has on being able to power on my laptop again. Thank you!

Do the reset CMOS and Power Drain procedure: Unplug adapter and open the back of the laptop. Disconnect the battery cable and locate the round CMOS module at the right side of the battery. Open the CMOS capsule and take out the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule with a bended paperclip for 1 second. Put the coin battery back with the + sign up and close the CMOS capsule. Remove the DDR4 RAM modules from the slots and put the modules firmly back in the slots to ensure good contact is made, push the slot brackets down to lock the DDR4 modules till you hear a loud click. Now press the power button down for 2 minutes (don't toggle) and wait a few minutes before connecting the battery. Close the back, plug-in the adapter and see if the amber LED charge light turns on. Boot.

Do the above Hard Reset but your laptop could have other circuitry problems have burned out and are causing your laptops problems and no matter what you do like a Hard Reset or a new battery or charger/adaptor it won't fix the problem,, so be aware of all this.

Have a look at this similar problem here and at this video "How a hard laptop repair looks like - Acer laptop not charging, motherboard repair" by a Technician called Sorin, as this could be what is wrong with your Predator Helios 300 as these power on problems are complicated and can be from many sources and should be diagnosed by an experienced and in the know technician as NOT all technicians are the same.

Okay sounds good I’ll give it a try, also I’m confused about the cmos, it’s covered with like black electrical tape or some type of wrap. How would I shorten the + and -?

I tried to do exactly that and still nothing worked I wasn’t quite sure on how to put the paper clip into the cmos and shorten the + and -. Also when I did reconnect the battery a little shock came out where the battery cable goes into, which I thought maybe that it was showing it had some power left. However still nothing works. The main reason why my laptop probably isn’t working is because I accidentally left it on when I went on vacation for a few days and when I came back it was completely dead and not charging or turning on. So I don’t know if perhaps the laptop overheated and the motherboard got damaged along with it. I’m not tech savvy so it’s not that simple to me on what im looking at. The new battery I bought didn’t work and same with the charger. I tried to perform a hard reset several times and a power reset (which could be the same thing.) I guess my only assumption is that the laptop is basically gone at this point if it’s leading to the mother board :(

"Shorten" an electrical circuit means connecting 2 electrodes with a metal wire (or opened paper clip) anything that conducts electricity (also called causing a "short circuit" like a blown fuse in your house). What you should have done is straighten (unbend) the paper clip and touch one end of the paper clip to the outside contact that connects with the + side of the coin battery shell (when the battery is installed) and at the same time touch the other side of the paper clip with the center of the CMOS contact, which is the - electrode. I don't know how to explain it any other way.

The purpose of this shortening is to discharge any residual current on the motherboard and removing the CMOS battery will reset BIOS to factory defaults.

If after all that still no results (you should redo the CMOS procedure) I suggest that you bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country for checking.
