I have fully updated the nvidia drivers using express installation from 517.70 version to 536.23 . Should i do clean install or something?

Its normally taking 200 mb ram but sometimes it reaches 1000 mb after gaming session with chrome and edge both open.
Is this normal?

All NVidia new drivers have to be Clean Installed and the old driver is best if its uninstalled. All new NVidia drivers have the Advanced > Clean Install feature, so use that always.

That kinda sounds like a nvidia performance issue so try contacting them for optimized drivers or contact acer (only a usable service on acer/predator/whatever device thats made by acer only up to a year or newer of owning the device.)

@StevenGen but does that not remove oem customisations done so I think express is the best right?

No, installing the NVidia latest gpu drivers for your laptop graphics card doesn't change the customized NVidia settings in the NVidia Control Panel. With the Realtek new driver, go to Device Manager and refresh that new driver and if it still gives a crackling sound then go back to the last Realtek driver that worked, as your laptop will not become a Studio Hi-Fi state of the art tool with this new Realtek driver anyway🤣use the drivers that work best with your laptop always, as most updates do more damage than improve anything.

Disable Fast Startup in Power Plan ("Change what closing the lid does") unhide options not shown and uncheck Fast Startup. A complete shut down and "cold boot" will solve your high RAM issue with DWM.exe.

@Puraw i think the issue is normal only if i open more tabs but thing is that can i clean install the nvidia graphics drivers?

Did you disable Fast Startup? You should not install any drivers, let Windows do the installing. Use DDU (Wagnardsoft.com) in Safe Mode to uninstall your display drivers and reboot.

The whole idea is to replace the "original" drivers (that are either Windows10 or corrupted) with new ones but you should let Windows do the installing, don't download or install anything, just reboot and use DDU in safe mode to uninstall both Realtek and Nvidia drivers. Windows11 will find compatible W11 drivers and install those when you reboot. If you have the PH315-55 model you should be running Windows11.

@Puraw windows update is installing old driver 517.70 and when I update to newer versions using express installation ,Im getting lag after switching from nvidia gpu to integrated. There are issues like that and there is lag when i scroll, etc so i was thinking to clean install the new nvidia drivers and see if the problem is fixed or not . But does clean install fix any problems. Im just testing now if the issue comes or not.

Windows11 will keep rolling back to the drivers recommended by Acer, to override the updating in Windows11 you need GPedit in Windows11 Pro. Why don't you tell us what Windows version you have installed?

I am not saying OLD drivers I am saying drivers tested by ACER for your laptop. I will let others join this discussion.

The drivers in the nvidia support page are 4 months old and its not working well with my system but idk surely what the issue is because im getting black screen in chrome and lag issues like I mentioned in the above post and issues like that are occuring so i tried express installation and updated to the latest nvidia drivers and still the issue persisted so i did clean install of the latest nvidia drivers to check if there is any issues
