nitro5 an517-41 can i use discrete gpu only in my laptop ?

i have nitro5 an517-41 rtx 3060gpu and r7 5800h cpu. is there a way i can use rtx3060 ? i couldnt see any options in bios or nitrosense about this.

    Right click empty area on desktop. Select nvidia control panel. If available, the option would be available there. If not, go to this link and download/install the updated nvidia VGA utilities to see if available in the updates.

    Just in addition as these Nvidia settings can only be set in the Nvidia Control Panel, so go to Control Panel and do this:

    Go to Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Select a program to customise > Select the preferred graphics processor for this program > High-performance NVIDIA processor. This is all that you have to do for all the programs that you want the RTX3060 to work with, you need to customise your software to use the secondary Nvidia graphics otherwise the laptop only uses the Intel integrated graphics if low end graphic processing is needed and only engages the Nvidia RTX3060 when high graphics processing is needed, thi sis all done to save battery power.

    there are no options about that in control panel and drivers are up to date

    i know i can select the gpu from control panel but it still uses optimus. i asked is there way that i can compeletly turn off the cpus gpu without putting an external monitor.

    Usually not for the lid screen since this model does not have a BIOS firmware mux switch. You can try disabling it in Device Manager but usually doesn't work the way you want inside the operating system.
