2019/2020 Helios 300 - Mini DisplayPort's supportability for Multi-Stream Transport (MST)

Hello!

I am in the process of buying either a 2019 or a 2020 17.3" Helios 300 running a GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060. My question is: Does the the Mini DisplayPort on the models running either of these GPUs support Multi-Stream Transport (MST)? In other words, can I use a hub such as the following one to run multiple HDMI displays simultaneously?

I asked StarTech's support, the manufacturer of the aforementioned hub, and was told that whether or not the hub works depends on the specific laptop & GPU models, and whether MST is supported.

Can anyone provide a definitive answer on this matter?

Thank you very much!

Hello! OP here. I ended up buying the 2021 model of the Helios 300 with i7-11800H & RTX 3060. I bought the following MST Hub & can confirm that it works fine. The laptop can support 4 displays at the same time through the MST Hub, or 3 displays using the MST Hub + 1 display using the laptop's HDMI port. The latter is how I use:

You can buy the one I linked to in my OP which has 3 HDMI ports, or the one I just mentioned in this post, which has 4 DisplayPorts - both would work fine. Also, if for some reason you need even more displays connected to your laptop, you can make use of the Thunderbolt 4 port and connect 4 additional displays:

I have 8 displays connected to my Helios 300 at the same time using the 2 aforementioned products. Everything is running smoothly. Laptops with a Mini DisplayPort + 1 or 2 Thunderbolt 4 displays are very powerful machines.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions, @Spradx7.
