Why can't I flash my bios for my Aspire M3450? Instructions in Readme followed.

I recently bought my acer aspire m3450 desktop from a local retailer to play a few games.  One game in particular, borderlands 2, was purchased via the popular third party digital download cloud Steam Client.  Upon launching this game and a few others through the steam client, my computer would crash.  There would sometimes give me a blue screen and an error message, other times, there would be no blue screen and the computer would immediately restart.

I tried the following:

Resetting the Computer

Updating my drivers

Redownloading and Installing the game

I then searched internet forums and game support to find this:

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/STEAMGamesonAMDFXplatforms.aspx

This shows there is an inherit problem with AMD FX processors.  I would like to perform an update to my bios. So I downloaded the file AMI P01-A3, Date: 01/02/2012.

Upon downloading and unpacking the zip folder i read the instructions and open command prompt as ADMIN.  Follow the instructions for a windows 64 bit system.  Command prompt told me i did not enter an appropriate .bat file.

Is there a proper fix for this problem?

    Good day

Download and update the bios to the latest bios P01.A4. You will need to update the bios starting with P01.A2, P01.A3, and then P01.A4. I have tested all the bios and they work.

I downloaded the bios from: http://www.acer.co.za/ac/en/ZA/content/drivers

I have the same problem with STEAM games and discovered the need to update the BIOS after trying all else.

I am new to re-flashing a BIOS and know that it can be damaging if done wrong. I currently have P01-A1. Am I to understand from your post that to do this right I need to do three re-flashes in succession to upgrade to P01-A2, P01-A3, and then P01-A4?  Doesn't the P01-A4 contain all of the other upgrades?

Additionally, the Readme instructions identify the commands.  Is there a particular directory where the download needs to be placed so that the WFlash2M.bat knows where to find the new BIOS image?

Did you get this fixed? I am in the identical situation as you were and can't figure out how to do this on my own. Help me out please?

    Thanks
