I got this Nitro 5 AN515-57 [specs will be listed at the end of the post] around a year or so ago and I've been using it without any issues. I saw a couple benchmarks online and was wondering why my fps on valorant was considerably lower than theirs. Another thing I noticed was that regardless of my graphics settings, my FPS has always stayed the same [about 130 on avg]. Changing the graphics quality and all the other settings does not affect fps whatsoever. I've attached a picture of my CPU and GPU usage below while running valorant. The CPU usage is considerably higher than the GPU usage at all times when playing. Is there any way to fix these issues? I just want to get the most out of my laptop so I can play more games with good fps.

What are the specs of your pc ?

Valorant is classified as a CPU-intensive game so it's normal the utilization of the cpu is higher than the gpu .

Also what is the average temperature of your cpu when playing .

And does changing the graphics quality in other games affect fps or not ?

With the AN515-57 laptop, make sure that you have at least 16GB (2x 8GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 type ram) more is better and like 32GB (as this laptop can run on 64GB total) as 2x ram modules runs the memory in dual channel which is far more superior in gaming than single channel, also make sure that the bios is up to date and your laptop is running the last bios Version 1.19 for your AN515-57 laptop, then make sure that the NVidia RTX GPU driver is always kept up to date with the game ready driver and the same with the Intel graphics drivers (install the Intel driver and support assistant scan) and all Win-11 windows updates are also up to date.

With gaming and Nvidia GPUs, make sure that you install the NVidia GeForce Experience software as this software is the key to playing games at their ultimate settings and best FPS with an NVidia GPU, as NVidia has gone to allot of trouble to get their appropriate and best and ultimate settings for over 1500 games that are included in the GFE software settings, as it also notifies you of any new Nvidia graphics drivers updates. Note: that whenever you update the Nvidia new graphics drivers you have to make sure that you always Clean Install the new drivers, which Nvidia has an Advanced option to do this with every one of their new drivers, so make sure that you do that. As doing all that will always allow you to play games and use your laptop for any high end software operation to your laptops limit.

Sorry I forgot to list the specs

    16GB RAM [single channel]
    RTX 3050
    i7 11-11800H
    1TB SSD

I can't recall if changing the graphics did affect fps in other games since I've only played Valorant for a long time now, I'll get a couple other games and get back to you in a week or so.

CPU temp caps off at about 92 and is constant throughout my gaming time, this is with the fans cranked up to max. I've thought about undervolting, should I do it? [I've not yet gotten access to a cooling pad]

The temperature of 92 of a cpu is at 92 is considered high and if you are playing constantly at 92 for hours it could damage your cpu .

I will recommend trying to clean your pc and re-apply thermal pad it best to take to professionals if you didn't do it before .

For the undervolting i don't have experience with it so i can't recommend it to you but from i know it's better to leave it as a last resort you don't want to reduce the performance of your cpu
