So back to question, if the a314-32 can read the memory even its only upgradable to 8gb ram?

For the storage of Aspire 3 a314-32 it has said two storage 128 ssd and 500 gb hdd can i replace the 500gb hdd to 1 tb ssd? Never been try to open the laptop, so I cant see the internal slot.

Reviews state that 1 x 4GB DDR4 2666 MHz is soldered on the MOBO and that one slot is free. Maximum RAM 8GB. Best would be to get a 1 x 4GB 2666 ($10) identical to the soldered one, run the Wmic command to find out paste this in the Command Prompt opened as administrator:

    wmic memorychip list full

2 x 4GB will run in Dual Channel mode and you will get the full clock speed of the MOBO 2667 MHz,

About the SSD, reviews state that up to 500GB SSD PCIe is supported. Nothing about a 2.5" Sata HDD, you have to open up to see if there is space for a HDD.

No, the maximum RAM is 8GB 2666 MHz. The 1TB SSD may work, you can give it a try, it either will boot or not.

There is some confusion that you may put 1x 8GB maximum in that 1 slot but I believe that is for when there is no 1x4GB soldered. Anyway, you will be in single channel mode that way with only half the clock speed 1333 MHZ. I recommend that you get a 1x4GB DDR4 2666 MHz
