Nitro AN515-58 mic not working with Quest 2

I have the Nitro AN515-58 and when I connect my Quest 2 to my laptop and try to talk to people I notice that people don't reply. When people do hear me they tell me " I can barely hear you" It isn't a game problem because it happens in all my games, I've tried getting a new mic and that didn't work and I've tried turning my mic volume all the way up but they all say the same thing. How do I fix this??

The audio in your AN515-58 laptop is governed by its audio drivers (that are many) and especially the apps that you use or connect to on the web. The problem that you are experiencing is with Quest 2 itself and the games that you use in the same way, as they are not setup properly or your laptop is not setup properly, the AN515-58 laptop has the following audio specs:

    • Audio Controller - Audio Codec: Realtek ALC287
    • Resolution: Support 16/20/24-bit PCM
    • Compatibility: HD audio Interface
    • Sampling rRate: Support 44.1k/48k/96k/192kHz sample rate
    • Internal Microphone: Yes
    • Internal Speaker/Quantity: Yes (2W speakers x2)

When you play games on the web and/or use conferencing apps, the audio is governed by the app itself and the Intel Wi-Fi LAN (if you use LAN) audio drivers also, try to refresh the audio drivers of your laptop this way:

Go to > Device Manager > Sound video and game controllers > Intel, Nvidia and Realtek and the Quest 2 (if its got an entry for audio) by right clicking on each of these main audio drivers and either reinstall them or update them by right clicking Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > but if you install a new driver (if a new driver is available) don’t update any to any new driver, as it has to be for this particular and same drivers new updated driver, otherwise you are going to corrupt the existing driver(s) and the audio won't work at all. I've done this and it worked 100% and reinstated the audio to work perfectly with just reinstalling the existing audio drivers.

Try that first as imo there is nothing wrong with your AN515-58 audio, the problem(s) that you are having is with the audio of the games and Quest 2 that you are using, as you haven’t set these software’s up properly.

Note: I’ve got an AN515-56 and the audio on my laptop is virtually the same as in your AN515-58 audio, but what I’ve found, and this is with and mainly apps and conferencing apps on the web, is that my laptops audio is virtually taken over by these apps and I can’t increase or decrease volume at all, while on internal audio software like Windows Media Player,, MusicBee or VLC Media Player audio apps and their video sections of these apps, the laptop volume works and can be adjusted perfectly and has great sound with my JBL BT headphones.

The device can be connected by wire or wireless, try to connect by wire first if the volume is good, then check your wireless settings (see the link below):
