Hello. I have Acer swift 3 sf314-58g-50mj with intel core i5-12210u CPU and GF MX250 GPU. It has 4Gb RAM built-in memory and additional slot. I bought laptop with 4gb installed in this slot.

Built-in memory: Samsung M471A5244CB0-CTD, DDR4, 2666MHz, 4gb, CL17

Additional memory: Micron MTA4ATF51264HZ-2G6E1, DDR4, 2666MHz, 4Gb, CL19

After ~3month I`ve bought it I started getting blue screens in random moments. Not exactly random but when I opened anything (chrome, game, photoshop, etc). First time it was rarely but then started more and more often.

I decided to buy a new memory to update and upgrade it (it was still planned). I bought Kingston KVR26S19S8/8, DDR4, 2666MHz, 8Gb, CL19

After I installed new memory blue screens had gone but only for some month. Then it came again. Blue screens came more often if CPU worked a long time in overclocked mode.

The most interesting is laptop work perfectly if it is only built-in memory inside. It works slowly (only 4 gb) but perfect. No any blue screens. No one services (5) answered me what it is but some supposed that problem with CPU.

Win10 Pro, BIOS v1.09, all drivers installed

When I try to make memory test with standart windows programm mdsched.exe it shows me hardware error (with additional memory).

The most often blue screens errors:

  1. MEMORY MANAGEMENT
  2. QUOTA UNDERFLOW
  3. KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
  4. FAULTY HARDWARE CORRUPTED PAGE
  5. SYSTEM SERVICE EXEPTION
  6. ATTEMPTED WRITE TO READONLY MEMORY
  7. PAGE FAULT IN NONEPAGED AREA
  8. CRITICAL PROCESS DIED
  9. UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP (MSKSSRV.sys)
  10. KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE
  11. SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
  12. PNF LIST CORRUPT

Maybe some one here can give an answer and what to do. I tired to work everytime with slow laptop. Thanks

Timing between the two modules may not be compatible.

Run Wmic in Elevated Command Prompt:

    wmic memorychip list full

    and

wmic MemoryChip get Banklabel, Capacity, Configuredclockspeed, Devicelocator, FormFactor, Manufacturer, Serialnumber, Speed

Get exactly the same partnumber as scanned by Wmic, including Brand, CL, everything.

That's what I did with my a515-54G never had issues in 4 years and running in Dual Mode with average RAM speed 30 GByte/sec. in W11 22H2 (MaxxMem2 freeware).

If you mix DDR4 capacity with the Kingston module you may not get the full 2667 MHz clock speed of your MOBO (Single Mode).

I see nothing obviously wrong with the memory, but overclocking isn't really supported on these Swift models. My guess is you are running into issue when trying to run things faster than designed.
