If I ask to "Browse my computer" it just asks me what folder I want to look in ! I already downloaded the Bluetooth driver from Acer as instructed by Puraw but it didn't come up with an icon in the right of the taskbar when I rebooted the computer, in fact I can't see where it downloaded the Bluetooth driver to. Did search under Bluetooth and other devices and it brought up a list of things but nowhere to switch it on or off, it just said to avoid having to go into Settings you can go into "Action Centre" to do it, but haven't a clue where the Action Centre is ! It does give the option to "Add Bluetooth devices" but no "toggle" for on and off. It is also not listed in the Device Manager as I mentioned before to Puraw.

If I go to "Have Disk" it takes me to System 32 directory list but I don'tknow where the file is and why does it say in the file name "Copy manufacturer's files from" and it is asking me to insert the manufacturer's disk ?

Try these steps, first you need to install the BT driver through Device Manager >>> and when you get to “Have Disk” the appropriate BT driver should come up when you link to the BT driver, if you have the Atheros Wi-Fi/BT card in your E1-531, its the BT driver file name “Bluetooth_Atheros_10.0.1.0_W10x64_A” and this folder should have the appropriate .inf BT driver file, so that you can install the BT driver only.

To install the BT software so that its icon appears in the “Task Bar” on the right side with the BT icon, you need to go into this same folder the “Bluetooth_Atheros_10.0.1.0_W10x64_A” and click on “Setup” which is an Application file that is 366KB in size, as this will start an installation process that will installs the BT software, and then reboot the laptop as the BT icon will appear in the right corner of the taskbar. It’s a very simple task to install the Wi-Fi driver and the BT driver for this laptop, as you have all the drivers and the Wi-Fi/BT card.

    Hi there,

I have managed to update my BIOS (firmware) but am unsure which driver update I need for my other two highlighted broken drivers. I managed to nagivate to the PCI options and as my system has an Intel Celeron processor got to the options, but which is it and are they all for my Windows 64 system?

Also is the System DMA Controller easy to update?

    TIA 🙂

OK, didn't realise I had to start a new thread as all my questions weren't answered but will do so. I thought that if I clicked "Answered" on one post that I could still wait to get my other questions answered on the same thread. My mistake.

Sorry, don't know where the BT Driver is and my system is not " E1-531", it is ES1-512 so can't process your answer.

    TIA

It seems my answer to you Steven appeared in Puraw's comment response from me so I have posted my answer to you again below.

What is the BT driver? Is it a disk because I don't have it and my system is not " E1-531", it is ES1-512 so can't process your answer.

I did say I am a total novice with technical matters and have a hard job working out how to implement technical steps.

    TIA😃

I opened a new thread under GPI Drivers and I have received no response, is there any reason for that ?
