no, the nitro models are designed to allow a user to upgrade ram and storage, just they won't be covered under Acer's warranty if something goes wrong. Those parts would be covered under the warranty the manufacturer would provide for them

Official Acer worldwide policy is: When you break the seal on the back over the screw hole the warranty will be voided.

In reality, if you replace the battery or upgrade the RAM in replaceable DDR slots, this will not invalidate the Acer warranty unless, because of installing a wrong battery or damaging the DDR4 slots/contacts by a user, Acer Services may determine that a bad motherboard or other major issue is caused by the user and will decide not to repair anything under warranty. So you run a small risk upgrading the RAM (DIY), be careful, use rubber gloves and MAKE SURE, you first disable Fast Startup to completely shut down the system, use the proper screwdriver set, don't strip the screws by using too much force on these very delicate screws, take your time, the brass inserts ("nuts") will break loose from the base when tightening the screws too much and you will have ruined the plastic chassis, never will be able to close the back properly. Next make sure the power adapter and anything else connected to USB ports are completely unplugged. Open the back and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard socket this may take some wiggling with the fingernails do not use a screwdriver or pliers to pull the cable plug forcibly out as that may damage the socket and connectors (big repair job). Press the Power Button a few minutes down (don't toggle) to discharge the system and unlock the hasp/bracket that keeps the spring-loaded DDR modules pushed down, wiggle carefully the DDR module(s) out. Careful not to bend the modules as they will break easily, don't touch the module contacts with you bare hands.

If after all this you hesitate the upgrading ask Acer Services to do it for you for a small service fee ($25 in the Philippines).
