Hey guys,

I am looking for a complete screw kit, or I should say a specific spring screw (set of 4) which is located on the GPU Heat sink.

The screw seemed very soft and after the second heat sink opening, it managed to break.

I have had a look everywhere, without any luck, and at the moment I can't make a proper contact between the heat sink and the CPU/GPU, which could lead me to damaging them due to not having enough cooling.

I would appreciate if anybody could advise me with a scew type or let me know whether Acer actually supplies them.

Many thanks!

The screws have a spring below them and it clicks, while compressing it.

Ignore the bit at the bottom, its just the signature aha :D, probably should remove that now its been out a while!

    Screw info:

    Screw torque force = 1.8~2.2kgf.cm

    M 2.0 x 4.0 X 7

I dont think there is a "parts" supply from acer, you could try raising a service request see if they will sell them through that

In the service guide there isnt a spring on them though, it could be the spring is part of the assembly or they are special ones? And im afraid there isnt any info on the thermal pads :(

Thanks, can I have a link to the service guide or a download?

Any idea what the actual name/model of the screw is?

    Appreciated!

    Hello

    Thanks for your replies.

Unfortunately the screws listed do not look like the scews on my laptop.

weird thing is that these spring screws are only 4 and stay on the GPU heatsink. The CPU heatsink is using the screws you have shown on the pictures.

Ah, they must be part of the entire assembly then as there are not any to that spec in the guide im afraid so you may be out of luck :(

If they arnt in the service guide, i'd recommend raising a service request they may have a better version of it than is available to us :) , we are just peeps who help out so only get access to a little back end info but not everything! The service centre peeps have been quite handy in the past in giving out a bit more info but sorry we couldnt be of more help :(
