My pc has these red light bars and one of them is flickering. I opened that bad boy up and noticed the light bars had sata cable connectors( probably not the right terminology it’s my first pc) and those were connected to some pins on the MB labeled light bar. I managed to find some Rgb light strips on Amazon with sata cable connectors and controller connected to it. My question is would those work with out frying anything? The Rgb strips are 5v argb if that helps. Reason I want to change the lights is because most of my set up is black and white and I’d like to have white lights inside my pc. Thank you for your kind words of wisdom kings and queens of the pc master race.

RGB and ARBG are different. RGB is 4 pin 12v and ARBG is 3 pin 5v. Your kit is ARBG. ARGB is cooler because it has a lot more lighting modes. Just plug it into your sata power, no worries. Acer motherboards can't control the ARBG lighting modes, so you'll need a separate remote to change colours and modes. Your kit's remote is attached to the line, so if you want to change colours/modes, you'll have to open your case everything.

When I moved my N50-640 to a new case for better cooling. I attached my ARGB fans to something like this with a seperate remote. I can change colours and modes without opening the case:

okay thank you! My lights come in today. You mentioned you case swapped it what case did you use? I installed a fan in behind the face plate to help with intake but I still warm up a bit while playing cod and nfs. I’ve been having my fans at 85% using nitro sense but still I’d like a case with better cooling. Thanks for any info

The Acer motherboard will fit any ATX case (which is the majority of cases). I used a micro ATX case, instead of the taller mid tower cases, because the cables of Acer PSU (power supply unit) are rather short and might be too short for the taller mid tower case. I used this case:

Definitely improves cooling with the added airflow. You also have plenty of options for fans and CPU coolers. With the original Acer case, its small size means you're limited to smaller fans and coolers which are difficult to find.

Yo it looks super dope! I tried to do a case swap and the case was way too big and I had to get a new psu and that's when I found out that the MB is Proprietary. If you don't mind me asking how did you get your usbs and audio jack to work or are you using only the ones on the back side of the PC. Im really intrested in doing this. Also the lights worked perfectly. Thanks again.

Yeah you'll lose easy access to the front USB/audio. I just use the back ones. If you really want to use the front usb/audio, you can get some extension cords with right angle plugs. You can probably find some adapters for the PSU cables to work with acer motherboard, difficult but it's possible to find anything on aliexpress lol . Micro ATX size case will work for the Acer PSU.

I used a micro ATX case, Fans are standard 120mm ARGB PC fans, the CPU cooler is an AIO liquid cooler. I'll create a seperate thread to show how to do a case swap, simple process.
