I dropped my Acer Spin SP314-21. It fell on the ground sideways. So near the charging port, the metal is bent and the cover has opened up. Is it possible to repair it? Also after I dropped it I turned the laptop on and the screen is sideways is it possible to fix the screen?

Need urgent help so pls give suggestions on what I should do

Thank You

Nah, no performance issues, maybe the DC port is busted a bit. I dropped my 4-year-old Aspire5 a515-54G at least 3 times on a stone floor from a 4 feet high table. It looked like yours but only my lid is metal the rest is plastic. Got a new back cover from Ebay ($15) and screws from a shop ($5) bent the lid back a bit with pliers and superglued (gel not the thin stuff) everything together and let it dry with a small glue clamp screwed on the hinge, I have been running the laptop like never before but cannot close the lid anymore, these Acer laptops are well designed, not talking about hinges etc., but the inside, motherboard. adapters, keyboard and even the panel, when I dropped mine, the news was still streaming online while the panel had popped out of the frame, unbelievable!

If you are not a DIY person bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country and they will replace the chassis, panel frame and hinges, should not cost more than $150, if the MOBO inside is cracked and the IPS screen is busted (unlikely) it may run up to $200-400 to repair in that case I would ask a DIY person to try and fix it like I did and save for a new laptop, never spend more than 30% of the price on an old laptop is my mantra😉

    You're welcome.

Yesterday's post on this forum showed a damaged Swift, bought at Amazon: Only the right hinge came out but Amazon wrote that Acer charged $250 for the hinge and frame replacement, so my cost estimates may be a bit on the low side.

In most cases it's more cost effective to repair the hinge mount where the screws have pulled out. Depending on how broken the mount is you can often just fill it with epoxy, wait for a full cure then shave it off flush and drill a pilot hole for the screw, or rebuild the mount in it's entire with epoxy. I've found that using a piece of Teflon plumbers tape can allow you to get the surface pretty flat without any chance of gluing the two halves together.
