Hello everyone! Today, while playing War Thunder, my battery level plummeted from 100% to 96%. My laptop was plugged in. There was no performance drop in the game, only the charging indicator turned orange. It used to happen to me on February 18th, but then I was sitting in the browser, and my charge also dropped to exactly 96%. Can you tell me what could be causing this? Has anyone experienced this? This has been happening to me since February 18th.

Battery Meter (BM) at the right of your taskbar in the Notification area (little battery icon). You never posted the Battery Report results; Open the report in Edge and right click on it>Print to Microsoft PDF.

If this is a recently installed battery, that was never completely drained, BIOS, the battery meter and Battery report stats may not be correct. Battery vendors therefore always instruct to drain a new battery to 5%, let the laptop shutdown, plug in the power adapter and charge to 100% (first time only). Do that and then create a new battery Report, print and post it here.

This is normal every laptop drains under heavy load, 4 % in say 1 hour is OK but if you stop gaming it should charge to 100%. I recommend you don't use High Performance but Balanced Power Plan. If you are on Windows11 you can check what apps use a lot of power and turn apps, you don't use off. You can view Background apps or in use.

It does not lose charge gradually, but immediately loses 4%, and I don’t like it. It also happens when viewed in a browser.

It could just be the BMS mis-reporting, if you do a battery report while its in that state what does it say the charge is? It could be on purpose where its drawing the power from the battery, and the ful charge is now ~96%

What is BMS? I already did a battery report according to the instructions, and I have indicated that the charge really drops from 100 to 96.
