Hello,

I hope two simple questions.

Can an Acer Aspire T180 modal ASP180-UA3818 be upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Pro 32 or 64 bit and

Will the Vista drivers be OK to use in the new Windows 7?

    Hi,

First thanks Tommy, but your answer didn't actually answer the question. Yes I understand about the support limitations, but what about the driver situation.

The existing setup is showing it's age in its current state, so I wish to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro 64bit if not 32bit but with most of the bells and whistles turned off.

I looked on Acer to see if their was any reference to using Windows 7 and found nothing, I'm under the impression that any hardware able to run under Vista will work under Windows 7 and using the Vista drivers, this bit is important as I can see no Windows 7 related drivers. I was just asking the question to confirm this as true or not.

Can you help on this point, please.

Windows 7 upgrades were part of a program that ended more than two years ago.

The information is no longer available on our website.

As a system which started shipping with Windows XP, it is unlikely that we ever provided Windows 7 upgrade instructions or drivers.  Generally a system may only be in production long enough to see a single operating system upgrade.

You are certainly welcome to attempt to upgrade to Windows 7, but we do not have drivers available and you would need to source drivers for any hardware which did not have working drivers.

I would suggest using the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor available on Microsoft's website first.
