Hello everyone,

I have a big problem with my laptop predator PH315-54.

When i browse some website like facebook, twitter, youtube or even news site and i open software (Unity), my PC go black screen with some horizontal strip. But, the pc continue to run, for exemple, when i'm on discord and the crash appears, i hear the voice from discord.

I have many software open simultaneously like discord, slack, unity, firefox… etc but the pc is far away from his critical charge.

I notice that this bug appears when the pc is on charge like if i do something like browse internet and open unity (the fan spin faster).

First i though it was my ram so recently i up from 16go to 32go but the crash still occurs. I updated all my drivers but still same…

I don't know what to do… if someone have solution or something, I would be grateful🙂

If you have other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks!

What Windows 11 version/build are you running; press Windows key + R and type Winver in the run box, take a picture with the snipping tool and post. What is your default browser? Do you have Hardware Acceleration enabled in Windows?

    Try these steps:

    1. Check connection issues - problem with the connection between the motherboard and the screen. Check the eDP cable if its not damaged or its plugs at the screen or motherboard is not shorted or burned or has a briken cable, as this is a common screen black or blank issues.

    2. Update the graphics drivers for Intel and Nvidia graphic drivers for your laptop.

    3. Do these Microsoft suggested fixes for a black or blank screen on your Windows device, try the following:

    • To wake the screen, use one of the following keyboard shortcuts: Windows logo key or Ctrl + Alt + Del.
    • For a black screen, use the following keyboard shortcut: Windows logo key + Ctrl Shift B.

    4. Disconnect non-essential devices - Connected peripherals may be why the black screen or black screen with the spinning dots during startup.

Otherwise it could be your screen that is faulty and needs replacing, also you can upgrade to the 165Hz refresher rate screen, which will give you a much better image, so consider that upgrade.

these are all the PH315-54 screens that Acer fitted to this lapto:

    Slim, eDP, FHD, IPS:
    • LGD LP156WFG-SPF3 - cable eDp 1.4

    • AUO B156HAN09.2 HW:3A - cable eDp 1.4

    • AUO B156HAN08.4 HW:0A - cable eDp 1.4
    • INX N156HRA-EA1 C1 - cable eDp 1.3
    Slim, eDP, QHD, IPS:
    • BOE NE156QHM-NY3 V8.0 - cable eDp 1.4
    • BOE NE156QHM-NY5 V8.0 - cable eDp 1.4

Here the picture! I try to keep my windows up to date.
I use firefox as default browser but sometimes i crash even if i'm not in internet browser (i used chrome first).
I just see that i have it, i turn it off just now!

I open recently the laptop and i don't see burned or crushed cables… my graphical hardware are up to date too.
I will try these others solutions but the black screen don't come when i start my laptop but when i do something on it (and not always).

Also, my screen frequency is 180hz or 360hz but i'll try to lock on 180hz and no dynamical (maybe).

    Thanks for answers!

Install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and make sure that the Intel graphics is up to date to its latest driver, as Win-11 dosent install the latest graphics driver for Intel.

Turn the Panel self refresh to ON, as that could be a problem also, this also saves power by allowing the panel to refresh independently. Follow these steps to enable or disable panel self refresh in the Intel® Graphics Command Center:

From the Windows Start Menu, search for the Intel Graphics Command Center. Double click the Intel® Graphics Command Center icon to open the application.

Click System in the left navigational menu.

In the Power tab, locate Panel Self Refresh and click the enable/disable button.

    Note

Panel self refresh is available only for embedded DisplayPort 1.3 (eDP 1.3).

That Intel screen above is from my Nitro 5 AN515-56 laptop not from a desktop, you need to install the latest Intel graphics driver (as you must not have them) and all Intel drivers with the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and then you will get the Intel Graphics Command Center like above.

Why don't you set Edge Version 112.0.1722.68 as your default browser far superior to Firefox. Instead of installing GPU drivers I recommend to delete all your display drivers with DDU in Safe Mode (check this forum, last week several had success with DDU) and reboot, let Windows11 reinstall the best drivers.
