I could not find any way to wake up my Acer Spin 3 SP314-55N when in tablet position after sleep.

This 2-in-1 laptop does not have a side power button like the other models. The power button is on the top right of the keyboard which get disabled in tablet position.

I even tried swipe and tap, but it did not work either.

Any help, how to lock inlock in tablet position?

Thanks

You should be able to just swipe up on or tap the screen to get the lock screen displayed.

If that does not work to wake from sleep in tablet mode, you can start typing on a paired bluetooth keyboard or a USB keyboard/mouse.

    Thanks Puraw for the reply.

Swiping and taping when sleep in tablet mode did not wake up my screen.

A google search about the topic, lead me to the " Touch to wake" option in windows 11 settings. (mine is windows 11)

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/component-guidelines/wake-on-touch-implementation-guide

But still, this option is not there.

I will attach a screen shot and a picture from the link above to show you that this option is not there.

Concerning the bluetooth or USB keyboard/mouse solution,

Well, Spin 3 is a 2-in-1 laptop, so I already have a keyboard attached.

I just want to use it as a tablet sometimes. And it is not practical to hold a tablet and a mouse while standing/walking and using the tablet.

It did not work, and a bluetooth mouse is not practical for using the device as a tablet while standing or walking.

May be the device might not be designed for it.

Going to Desktop mode is a quick solution .

Kindly go through the details from the link given below

    https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/wake-up-laptop-from-tablet-mode/td-p/7659990

Kindly go through the screen shot captured from service manual designed for your computer.

    Pict 1

check the tbt wake from s4 support and usb wake from s4 support. Try to do bios defaults and check.

Thanks @William_mk2, but concerning the https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/wake-up-laptop-from-tablet-mode/td-p/7659990 hp solution it did not work because mine is windows 11. In windows 11, tablet mode is integrated in the new OS and we cannot access it in the settings.

I went into the Bios and enabled these "TBT wake from S4" and "USB wake from S4", and nothing changed. This is expected because I read that TBT is Thunderbolt port and USB is USB port, so when I enabled them they just allow external devicces connected to these ports (like a mouse) to wake the laptop.

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near the top of the next pane, Scroll down and UNcheck boxes for fast startup and hibernate. Save settings. Shut down normally. Then turn back on.

If it doesn't work, try updating to BIOS v1.11 from Acer downloads

Thanks @JackE, I updated the Bios and unchecked the Hibernate and fast startup, but still in tablet position it does not wake up by the power button nor with screen swipe or tap. I have to fold it back for it wake after sleep.

    1. Does touch screen wake in normal laptop mode?
    2. Does 'touch the screen to wake' option appear in BT/device settings in normal laptop mode?

    @JackE

    1. No, the touch screen does not wake the device in laptop mode.
    2. No, the "Touch screen to wake" option is not there in the settings.

    2. No, the "Touch screen to wake" option is not there in the settings.

If this option also doesn't appear in laptop mode, then the screen and its touch grid are likely both disabled in sleep mode. It means that neither are in a low-power standby state like the keyboard, touchpad or ports. One last thing to try is press Ctrl+S in the BIOS Main and Advanced tabs to see if any hidden options relating to touchscreen wake options like the TBT & USB ports.

    TBT isn't Tablet, it's Thunderbolt. :)
