Aspire R7 - Win 7 64 bit - Bios v2.08

The UEFI is unable to perform windows 7 64 bit setup. And when running windows 7 from legacy BIOS the system repeatably reports "ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal PCI Operation Region (0x38)"

Smurk, I believe that your rig is designed for Windows 8. The problem here is that the architecture for Windows 8 hardware differs from Windows 7 hardware. Installing WIndows 7 on a Windows 8 machine is difficult or impossible. In addition, you will lose your drivers, and even if you reload them from the Acer site, they are not designed to run on Windows 7.

A better solution is to go to the Windows 8 Start Page, and drag the Desktop tile to the top left corner. Now you only have to press Enter to go to the Desktop. From the Desktop, go online and download the free Classic Shell Start Button. That will make your desktop run the same way as Windows 7. Over time, as you get to explore Window 8's new features, you will learn to enjoy the benefits of this new OS.

Or Windows 8 supports Hyper-V - set up a Win 7 virtual machine.

You might as well say that the internal wifi adapter is not working because it´s windows 7 software running on windows 8 hardware.

Btw prefer having these punic errors instead of a major screw-up like windows 8 with far more puzzling bugs.
