My whole computer slows down and shuts off after playing games.

It doesn't happen with every game I play but for some games I play for 5-30 minutes and everything slows down. My fps drops to 2-4 and the audio lags aswell. This happens for about 10 minutes then it goes back to normal, but after around 5-10 minutes it happens again but it usually shuts down the whole computer leaving my keyboard lights glitched. It can also shut down the computer when I try to close the game or try to use the computer after it stops lagging. This happened a few months ago and thought I found a fix by manually changing the fan speed on nitro scense to max but it only worked for some games. Plus the games that lag aren't really demanding compared to others that dont lag. The games that don't lag whil fan speeds are at max are MW2 WZ and MP, For honor, Fortnite, GTA 5, Black Ops 3, CSGO. Note that with all games if I turn on the instant replay mode on the nvidia geforece it will lag most games after around 3-5 minutes. Games that lag with max fan speeds are Fifa 23, Dead Island 2, Rainbow Six Siege and the new game Xdefient. Ive really been trying everything for maybe 1 year now but now I bought dead island 2 and cant play it for more than 30 minutes without having my computer shut down, and if im lucky sometimes I can play for an hour without it lagging. Also I forgot to mention that I upgraded from 8GB of ram to 16GB of ram to try to fix it but ended up doing nothing at all. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes a simple system restore will fix the issue..

    Try windows x
click on power shell admin or command prompt admin
    type rstrui
chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine
    click on next, finish, yes
It will restore your computer to an earlier date
if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close
It will show you all the icons..
Try and check whether it is working now ..

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand display adapter
right click on display driver - uninstall
    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

If it is still not working
Uninstall the display adapter from device manager
    Dont restart the computer.
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers
    Install the display driver

    It should work fine..

Hi @EmojiMan i leave you a note that can help improve performance and hopefully at a lower temperature generation::

    https://www.amazongames.com/en-us/support/new-world/articles/troubleshooting-frame-rate-and-performance-issues?language-picker=true

Anyway remember the basics for games:
    -Keep the exit holes clear
    -Work in a cool environment
    -Use if possible, refrigerated bases
-Regulate the power mode to a state less than "maximum performance"
-Regulate the game configuration to lower consumption states

    All the best.
