As the title suggest my laptop is turning on (both battery and AC) but nothing shows on the screen. The screen remains black and lo Acer / ConceptD logo is shown.

I've already tried the following:

- Draining the battery

- Entering BIOS (F2, F9, F10, DEL)

- Unplugging everything external (monitors, USBs)

Nothing has really worked so far.

What should I do?

Does it look like the backlight is kicking in? and if you shine a very bright torch though the screen can you see anything :)? (to try to see if its the backlight which has failed, or maybe the screen itself for whatever reason)

No luck for me. Even by pointing a flash light in front of the screen I can't see anything.

    Bacchinif,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug the charger.
    3. At the bottom there will be a tiny pin hole with battery sign close to it take a pin or paper clip and insert into it hold that button for 20-30 seconds. Then turn ON the unit and check.

Already tried that. Didnt' work for me.

Unfortunately I've not been very lucky as after bringing the machine to the closest official repairing center we've discovered that the motherboard died.

It seems pretty clear to me that you auto-pasted the answer. What can I do if the motherboard is burnt?
