If this is Broadband WIFI use Ookla Speedtest (online testing) to check your WIFI connection quality and speed (uploading is always much slower than downloading). http://www.speedtest.net

If you are using Ethernet with a LAN cable you can download this freeware from:

    https://www.paessler.com/prtg?wgu=264775_1371955_16821524491171_074e863b14&wgexpiry=1713688449&utm_source=Webgains&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=WebgainsAffiliate&utm_content=1371955&wgregion=us

The reason Androids and Apple WIFI speeds are faster is Windows' (assuming you have Windows and not Linux) protocol, adapters settings, 3rd party telemetric ("chatting") and AV (Norton, etc.) taking up all your WIFI bandwidth. Browse the Internet how to disable all telemetric and Network adapters. Disable Proxy, VPN and sharing helps too. This is how my W11 22H2 WIFI Network looks like:

Also using automatic DNS and IP helps.

There is a difference between androids and windows internet speed, also uploading and dowloading have completely different bandwidth (speed). To check windows WIFI speed online type in your browser Speednet.com and connect. Windows has AV (Norton, etc,) and many programs you have installed that all want to go online (Telemetric), check the internet how to manage that. Keep your Network protocol simple, disable proxy, sharing and VPN, this is my Network

Try different speed test tools and check on your computer.

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand network adapter
Right click on wifi adapter, wired adapter - uninstall
    restart the computer.

If it is still not working properly

    Go to website - support.acer.com
    chose your country
type the snid or chose the model no
    go to drivers
    Install the wireless, wired driver

Before installing the wireless driver go to device manager - uninstall the wireless, wired driver.    Without restarting the computer - try to install the wireless, wired driver from acer support website. '

Now try to check the speed and check. Other wise contact your isp and check.

Thanks for the info but I have done all of these things and even had a BT engineer out but the speed still differs between my laptop and mobile.
I was thinking maybe I could upgrade my network card but unsure what to get for my laptop…
