hi all, I have inherited an Acer aspire C24-865_W all in one pc with a 1Tb HDD, it's horrendously slow so would like to upgrade the HDD with an SSD/s. My question is regarding the NVMe, M.2 internal slot and the maximum capacity of SSD which can be supported, I believe this to be 128 or 256Gb max, is this correct or is it possible to use higher capacities?

Also if I install an internal ssd can I keep the existing 1Gb SATA hard disc drive. Or I may change this also to a SATA 1Tb SSD, is this possible?

Thanks

Thanks for replies, now I'm even more confused than I originally thought…..

Are u saying that the existing 2.5" 1Tb SATA HDD can only be upgraded to a higher capacity 2.5" HDD and that it cannot be replaced by a 1Tb SATA SSD?

Essentially you can put either a SATA drive or an NVMe drive into that M.2 slot and size doesn't matter. The slot only does PCIe 2.0 though and I expect it only uses two PCIe channels.
