Predator Triton 300 SE Freezing

I got this laptop about 2 months ago and it has intermittent issues freezing up. Multiple times a week, in the middle of various activities (gaming, Chrome browsing, MS office work), all display activity freezes and no inputs seem to get registered. Audio will still play on (game, streaming music, etc), but otherwise I'm forced to power cycle to get anywhere. I found one old thread from a while back with similar symptoms, but am wondering if others are experiencing this more recently. I've got split screen enabled with a Sceptre monitor, and an Elgato Wave 3 mic plugged in, along with a random USB mouse, and corded earbuds plugged in. It seems like all my drivers are up to date and I can't narrow down the triggering events. While I originally suspected overheating given the load I was putting on it in the early days (Discord, Steam, and FiveM all working together to run GTA V online, including the Wave 3 and tabbing around my browser), it doesn't appear related to CPU or GPU usage given the tame usage at some more recent freeze times. The only other thing I can think of, borrowing an idea from that other thread, is that it's possible all the crashes have happened some amount of time after a hibernation. It doesn't seem consistent, and certainly not right afterwards, but I do let it go to sleep when I'm away for 30 minutes, which happens multiple times a day - though I do shut it down every night and restart every morning. Thoughts?

Is the laptop going into BSOD's and if it is then what are the "code errors numbers" of these blue screens that you are getting? As what is probably happening is that you are overloading the laptops PSU and the laptop might not be crashing but its freezes due to being put at its limit and lack of power when you are doing your "split screen enabled with a Sceptre monitor, and an Elgato Wave 3 mic plugged in" and playing games and streaming games as the combination of all this is causing the freezing issues as "a random USB mouse, and corded earbuds plugged in" will not cause freezing as I use an external corded mouse and a BT headphones always but whenever I pug my old USB hub in and a tablet cooler, the laptop randomly shuts down and reboots and the laptop crashes, as when I disconnect the USB hub and tablet off the USB power the laptop works perfectly plus I also have connected and use a Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD Monitor - U4021QW as an external monitor, this is on a new Nitro laptop.dereknorthridge said:I got this laptop about 2 months ago and it has intermittent issues freezing up. What you have to realise is that laptops like your Predator Triton 300 SE that come with the top of the range i7-12700H, RTX-3070Ti have a Maximum Power Supply Wattage of 230W, if this is the specs of your laptop as the lower spec Triton 300 SE have a smaller PSU like 180W and they haven't got the power like gaming desktops that come with PSU's like bigger PSU's like 750W, 850W or even for a hard core gamer that his desktop has a 1000W PSU', as what you are doing is overloading the PSU which is causing your freezing issues and next will be a total shut downs and that is why these sorts of freezing issues happen, its happened to me lots of times on older laptops that when I played games like playing "GTA V or F1 and streaming" this laptop that is only 4 years old, froze and in extreme cases, crashed completely as your laptops PSU just can't handle the loads that you are putting onto it.1 -

The same freezing thing is happening with my triton 300 SE too, did you find how to resolve that? BUT I think this is a module defect a lot of users are finding the same issue while watching a football match and it happened to me twice or thrice on this last three months , I don't know how to deal with this if anyone comes up with a solution please feel free to mention how to overcome this..

I haven't found a solution. Someone theorized it was power issues, which might make some sense, but it's also happened when I only have a monitor and mouse plugged in, which doesn't seem like a lot of draw. I've noticed the majority of times (but not all) are when I'm gaming and my GPU seems like it's peaking. Under those conditions, I can expect a freeze every few hours. Even when it's not pegged like that, I'll still freeze up every couple of days.

The model number on the bottom of the laptop is N20C8 (that's under Predator Triton 300 SE). Are you looking for something different to that?
As for the error code, there are none. The screen freezes, no mouse or keyboard inputs seem to register, and I'm forced to hold the power button for ~10 seconds to force a reboot. If you think there are logs anywhere that I can access to help, please point me in the right direction.

I have the same issue on my new triton 500 se (i9-12900H, 3080 ti). A 4k 120Hz external monitor on the HDMI2.1 outlet. Constantly freezes and needs hard reboot with no event log. Almost EVERY DAY with only Chrome browser working!
No idea what to do. I tried switching the refresh rate to 60Hz, but it still happens. I already update the system bios from Acer official website, and update the driver of my GPU. Really frustrating.
If it is a PSU problem, what should I do or try?

You can try to do a factory reset to check if that makes any difference.
Check the above link to do a reset.
NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the reset.

FIX: This was happening to me as well, basically every day, sometimes several times a day. I tinkered with RAM/Memory allocation settings, and now it happens extremely rarely. By rarely, I mean about once every 3 to 4 months, if even that. It seems to be a Virtual Memory problem by the looks of it.
Solution (Predator PT314-51s — Windows 11): Go to System Settings. Scroll the to the very bottom. Click on "About". Scroll slightly below to find "Related Links". Then click on "Advanced System Settings." Click on the "Advanced" Tab. Click on "Settings" under Performance. Click once again on "Advanced" Tab. Click on "Virtual Memory". This is what you need to write:
(Yes, this is a precise calculation based on the Hardware):
Click on "Custom Size": Initial Size should be 24576 MB
Maximum Size should be: 49152 MB
Thus, make sure above it reads: Drive Volume Label — Paging File Size (MB) 24576-49152
Click OK.
After This adjustment was made, I went from crashing/freezing every half an hour or so, to once every 4 months or so. It is still annoying when that happens, and I am sure the memory adjustments can be tinkered with more…But that is the resource allocation you need to calculate for the system. This means that in ideal circumstances, your hard disk drive should have about 100 GB free space, both for the virtual memory and to store new files. Thus, about 800 to 900 GB can be used for games or whatever. But I noticed that I was not receiving any crashes at all, until my Disk Drive only had about 10 GB left. With such a large amount of Virtual Memory, you need to free up Hard Disk space. But even then, it happens extremely rarely.
Hopefully this helps all of you out.
