Support Site Rejects my SN and SNID

I entered every possible variation but no dice. I even took a picture and enlarged the numbers to make them more readable.

How do I get past that screen to get to a person to find out about out of warrenty repair?

Thanks

    Call your Acer support center.

That doesn't appear to be a support option.

I have now wasted 30 minutes on the Acer Website with nothing but frustration to show for it.

Apparently the preferred method is either e-mail or chat.

When I registered my computer with Acer, I noticed an autodetect feature for SN and SNID on the registration page. Don't know if you have one also.  If you do, try it - it can't hurt.

    Thanks everyone.

I found the phone number by Googling. Of course they made me hang up and call different number once I got through. After an hour of screwing around with Websites and phone calls, I was told it would be $250 to fix my 19 month old tablet.

Oh well. At that price, I'll buy something to replace it. Probably won't be an Acer.

Since your computer is 19 months from purchase and registration and is presumably out-of-warranty, there is no free service available from Acer.

You haven't indicated to us what the actual problem is that you need service for.  Have you approached a local computer repair shop for an estimate?

It lights up when plugged in but will not power up. No noises, no lights, no anything.

I haven't approached a repair shop as they usually want $100 just to look at it. There's one near by I could ask them.

    Thanks

    Thank you for the link.

I googled pretty good before posting here. Some people had luck by buying a new battery for $70.

But according the white light, the unit should be fully charged. I opened the unit.  I unset and resat the existing battery but the problem remained. I am reluctant to buy a new battery thinking it would not make a difference. If the unit functioned a little I would but it remained quite dead.

    Thanks.

I am disppointed, I got less than 2 years out of it but at this point, it is onward to a new unit.

I do not know your device but one of the signs of a battery that cannot hold a charge is one that shows a full charge very quickly but then does not function.

Looks like the power button is broken. It was deemed not worth fixing. Since the tablet has been prety much written off anyway, I may try removing the button and seeing if the unit can be powered on with a pen cap. Bummer that it only lasted a year and a half.
