Did you try to use your new WIFI card in a public area with Internet WIFI Broadband services (Mall or Starbucks, etc.), it may be your home router causing these WIFI problems?

    Try this method..

    On a different working computer.

    Go to the website
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10
Below the info Create Windows 10 installation media
    click on download tool now..
It will download the windows media creation tool  - click on media creation file on the lower left corner.
Insert a blank 8 gb flash drive
it will download and install the windows 10 on the blank flash drive..  Kindly use atleast a 8 gb usb flash drive to download windows 10

Now insert the flash drive on the broken computer

Tap f2 for laptop and del for desktop while turning on the computer
    It will go to bios
    Go to main
change the f12 boot menu to enabled
Go to boot tab or boot options tab
    change the settings
    Boot mode: UEFI
    Secure boot : Enabled
    F10 - Save the changes
Try f12 while turning on the computer.
It will go to boot menu
    chose the usb

    Boot it using flash drive..
    click on install
    chose custom
on where do you want to install windows screen - remove all the partitions
It will become like one single unallocated space
There is no need to format it..
    chose the unallocated space
    click on next
It will install the operating system.

Now try the inbuilt wifi card and then try the new external wifi card.

Had the exact same problem on an acer aspire 5, tried every single tutorial on the internet, none of them worked. The funny part is that it came with Linux and it was working fine on it, once I installed windows (I tried both 10 and 11) none them worked. Go figure...

Also it's with mentioninting that I had a completely different adapter, it was an Intel one, which makes me think that it might not be hardware.

The killer wireless in question is also by Intel I've been reading across many forums now that so many people have reported this issue but Intel are not dealing with it. Now I have purchased a 5ghz tp link single since this thing is driving me crazy.

There's no point in doing that since my phone and Android tv box are connected to the same router and working fine.

The point is that you will know that your hardware, and network drivers/software is working if you can connect to a public broadband. All you have to do then is check your WIFI protocol with your home router.

I understand you say "The funny part is that it came with Linux and it was working fine on it, once I installed windows (I tried both 10 and 11) none them worked. Go figure..."

Since it is working fine on linux , it is not the issue with your computer. It might be a software issue on your computer. Try using the computer with different isp in a different place, different external cards and check. Try to run the windows update and check.

It looks like a driver related software issue.

    Try windows + x

    Go to device manager

    expand network adapter

Right click on driver - click on update

chose the 2nd option - browse my computer - click on 2nd option Let me pick on the new window

It will show you multiple drivers on the list . Chose the first driver - click on next

It will install the driver - click on close

Now restart the computer and check. Try the same with all drivers on the list one by one and check. One of the drivers listed might work.

Ive also done this and clicked one by one like you say on every single driver still no dice. I have now bought a usb wireless dongle its the only soloution i can see. This is a serious probelm with some Intel driver conflict and sooner or later others will experience it so hopefully this thread can be reffered back to.

I think usb wireless dongle will help you to use the wireless internet as i feel it is the issue with the software wireless driver. Try windows update and check.

Ok new and final update i have finally found the problem and it is for certain fixed this time. One of my usb ports is damaged physically a few weeks ago while removing the mouse after gaming something came loose and a blue piece of plastic fell out of the right hand side usb port when i tried to insert the mouse in again i bent one of the metal pins inside rendering the port totally useless. A few weeks on now to current time when i started experienceing the wireless code 10 issue and aftger trying all the things outlined in the posts above and even installing new hardware i was still at square one. Then the other night i had a moment of clarity while looking down all the devices in dev manager and i noticed (unkown usb device port reset failed) I knew instantly this refered to the damaged port and it was throwing this error. Upon disabling the named port and rebooting the wireless started working properly and has not gone into code 10 ever since. I dont know how a Usb port being damaged affects the wireless card but this has solved the issue.
