I bought Acer Aspire 3 A315 59G laptop but there is a big problem and I couldn't solve it for 2 months. When I download a file while connected to the wifi network, the computer hangs a lot and becomes unusable. I have installed the latest drivers, reinstalled windows 11 many times but could not solve the problem. When I download a file with an ethernet cable, there is no stuttering, but when I download a file with wifi, the laptop hangs a lot. Thanks already for your help.

Open System Information>Components>Network> Adapters and Look under "Product Type" for WIFI and adapter brand/type, then in Device Manager confirm the WIFI adapter, see if there is a yellow problem icon and find the installed driver:

    Device Manager>Network Adapters>WIFI>properties>Driver

Your laptop model comes with 4 different WIFI adapters and there are 5 different WIFI drivers available for your laptop on the Acer Support site:

    • MediaTek MTK7902
    • MediaTek MTK7663
    • MediaTek 802.11 wireless driver version 2.0.9.216
    • Intel AX101
    • Intel INT9560

You wrote that you RESET or reinstalled Windows11 several times and possibly by now your Windows driver store has several different WIFI driver versions, you have to select the correct one for your adapter.

Once you know your WIFI adapter check on Acer what version driver you should have installed and in Device Manager find that driver in your driver store (Update Driver>find on your computer), install that one, if you cannot find the correct driver download it only from Acer Support.

In case you have a MediaTek WIFI adapter also try the generic 802.11 driver 2.0.9.216 if the MTK7902 or MTK7663 is giving you trouble.

The wifi driver on my laptop is MediaTek MTK7663 and I just downloaded this driver from acer.com and updated the driver but my problem is not solved. I also installed the generic driver but it still failed.

Do you see a yellow problem icon anywhere in Device Manager also check Hidden Devices?

After you downloaded and installed the MTK driver and rebooted did you check Device Manger if that new WIFI driver is still installed? Windows11 often rolls back drivers that are installed manually.

If none of this helps you need to check Windows11 Network app. Uninstall any 3rd party network apps you have installed (Add or remove programs), disable file sharing, Proxy, VPN or anything else you have enabled in Network. Open the WIFI More settings and click Network RESET. Disable 3rd party Anti Virus programs (only use Defender with Windows11), Reboot and try again to download a file.

If no change, open advanced Network settings, More adapter options, WFI, adapter properties and untick all protocols except IPv4 and set that to Automatic IP and DNS. Finally go to an open Internet point (shopping mall, Starbucks) and try to download a file there, if no issues there is a problem with your router at home (WIFI settings).

If none of this helps and you have no issues with that SAME ROUTER using a LAN cable you may have a hardware issue with your MTK adapter/antenna, bring or send your laptop to Acer Services and explain Windows11 freezing/hang issue with WIFI adapter, also describe the router you are using (model number etc.).

I did everything you said but my problem is not solved. I think the wifi card is the problem. Today I went to the place where I bought my laptop and sent it to acer service with the laptop box I bought and asked for a replacement with a new product.

Good decision, I think Acer will replace the MTK adapter and antenna.
