Predator Triton PT315-53- Battery stopping when fans kick in

Hi all,

I've spent the last 8 months trying to fix this issue with Currys/PC World (UK) and I still have a laptop that won't consistently charge…

I purchased a brand new Triton 300 in January 2022. At the end of June 2022, the laptop charger sparked and cut off the electrics in my house. The laptop then wouldn't charge at all.

I reached out to Currys/PC World, who took months to supply a replacement, saying they didn't have access to the charger for this specific laptop. I then received a replacement charger, but it only appears to charge until a game is loaded up. The moment the fans kick in on the laptop, a loud beep can be heard and the laptop stops charging. Currys have said they cannot reproduce the issue and therefore cannot fix it. I've can consistently reproduce it, every time I launch any game on the laptop (I have a video of this).

If anyone has any idea how to fix this, i'd be greatly appreciative. This process has been extremely exhausting so far.

Hello! What is the exact model? Example: AN515-51-75KZ. Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the motherboard's lithium battery?

Hii, as far as i know the full part number is - Acer Predator Triton 300 PT315-53 15.6" Gaming Laptop (NH.QDSEK.001)

No i haven't tried anything inside of the laptop yet, as i didnt want to void any warranty between Currys/PC World.

This is a HD charger that may blow a light house fuse (start surge).

I found a replacement power adapter on e-bay possibly compatible with your model:

There are adapters on several India and Philippines mail order sites specific for your laptop but they may not ship to the U.K.

It is a power adapter compatible with your machine. Can you tell me the bios version too? Does the battery charge when the computer is off?

So the BIOS version is Insyde Corp. V1.14 25/10/2022.

The battery charges perfectly when the laptop is switched off, and for the most part, charges fine when running the internet and lower power apps. The issue crops up when anything more powerful is ran - the fans boot up and the charge stops, with the laptop emitting a loud beeping sound.
