Hi i am having a serious problem with my wireless adapter which is killer wifi AX1650i in my Acer nitro 5 AN15-56. the wirelss adapter has suddenly become disabled and is showing code 10 unable to start i have tried everything i can uninstalling drivers reinstalling and even i have gone to the intel site and found a later driver which claims to fix the code 10 issue but to no avail. Short of replacing the card which i do not want to do i cannot think what i can do. Briefly yesterday i got it working for about 30 min by stopping the wireless service and restartiung it but it has gone back to code 10 suddenly and this time i cant get it to work at all. I should also mention have restored the machine to factory settings also.

Ok new and final update i have finally found the problem and it is for certain fixed this time. One of my usb ports is damaged physically a few weeks ago while removing the mouse after gaming something came loose and a blue piece of plastic fell out of the right hand side usb port when i tried to insert the mouse in again i bent one of the metal pins inside rendering the port totally useless. A few weeks on now to current time when i started experienceing the wireless code 10 issue and aftger trying all the things outlined in the posts above and even installing new hardware i was still at square one. Then the other night i had a moment of clarity while looking down all the devices in dev manager and i noticed (unkown usb device port reset failed) I knew instantly this refered to the damaged port and it was throwing this error. Upon disabling the named port and rebooting the wireless started working properly and has not gone into code 10 ever since. I dont know how a Usb port being damaged affects the wireless card but this has solved the issue.

Is it still under warranty? If so, contact Acer.

It's not really an Acer problem it's a driver/ Windows issue plus I'm not under warranty. When googling this issue hundreds of people with the same card are having this issue with the same card.

Hi @sam0056 you can confirm your model, you have put:
    AN15-56
and I think it should be a:
    AN515-56
    It's right?
Can you also tell me what version of Windows you have installed?
    Thank you.
    All the best.

This is what Microsoft says about code 10:

    hit___

Code 10 "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

    Full Error Message

"This device cannot start. Try upgrading the device drivers for this device. (Code 10)"

    Cause

Typically, the device's hardware key contains a "FailReasonString" value, and the value string is displays an error message defined by the hardware manufacturer. If the hardware key does not contain a “FailReasonString” value the message above is displayed.

    Recommended resolutions

    Update the driver

In the device's Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.

Note You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver.  If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s website.

    End of pasting___

Uninstall the current driver and download and install the one provided by Acer on the computer's download page:

Paste the information from Microsoft to set out the terms of the problem.
In your first post, you talk about Intel drivers and what I recommend is to uninstall Intel and download and install the ones provided by Acer from the download page for your model.
I don't know if when you comment that I reinstalled the driver, you are referring to the original from Acer, if so, please ignore this answer.
    Thank you.

@sam0056 if you have tried many drivers, then try to update the windows, do the power reset by powering off the laptop, unplug the charger, and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Resetting Windows would be the next step to do if the above steps don't work.

I've already reset windows as mentioned in initial post. At this stage im thinking back to Windows 7

Your computer is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11, Windows 7 will not work correctly if you can install it.
I would try Windows 11 first.
Once installed check if the WiFi card works.
If it doesn't work, please install the Acer drivers first.

If that doesn't work either, try the Intel ones again:

    Thank you.
    All the best.

hi i am trying a clean reset full format from scratch rather than built in reset as i think that might be an issue i have tried the other things and no joy.

@sam0056 then try to do a clean Windows installation using a USB. If that doesn't work also, you might need to go to a repair shop and ask them to try a different wifi card.

Ok well latest update i have reinstalled windows fully by deleting all partitons and installing from scratch still the issue exists so i have order a new wifi card that should arrive in a day or 2 which i can install. Its obviously a hardware failure.

Yup, it is. Most of the code 10 issues are of hardware failures.
