I know this has been covered a lot.

But ive was wondering what other CPU air Coolers are an option besides the NH 12s. I am not saying its a bad cooler, just trying to see what else is out there.

Are we limted to something i am missing?

side note. i am new to building PCs so i am sorry if im asking a dumb question. How many other fans can i add to my PC?

I am thinking about adding 2 top exhaust fans and then maybe 2 more on a CPU cooler. The only thing i have done so far is add more RAM.

The other alternative cpu cooler is an AIO water cooler and you could either put its radiator at the top or the front of the case, as its just as effective as a Noctua cpu cooler but you will have to measure your spaces and make sure that you have an appropriate radiator that fits those spaces. The top 240mm AIO coolers are the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240, Corsair iCUE H100i Elite Capellix or the NZXT Kraken Z53 or you can get a DIY kit that you can build that you can customise to fit the space of the Orion 5000 case, for the gpu there is an RTX3070 Water Block cooling which is very affective also if you are going to do some hard core gaming.

nothing larger than the Noctua NH-U12A will fit it the 5000-7000 series cases, thats whats in mine, and nothing bigger will fit, thats why we all use that one or smaller ones lol, and yes 2 fans up top as exhaust work great, what i did is i put the noctua fans on the top as exhaust and then put the acer frostblade fans on the cooler, they are higher rpms and it helped drop the temps and since then they have been replaced by cooler master higher velocity rpm fans, and the frostblade fans are on the top rack and the noctua fans are collecting dust haha, i also removed the gpu bracket and put a cooler master one underneath my 3070 and it works great and then since my pc didnt come with an hdd, i removed that large hunk of metal for better air flow and just put in a crucial gaming ssd in slot 2, i also have 4x16 crucial ddr5@4800 mhz, then the last mod i did was replace the intel lga 1700 cpu bracket with a thermalright one, and i personally use Noctua because they are rated among the best and the build quality is the best by far but there are cheaper options.

@chugzilla thank you for the list of Mods.

I absolutely love this system. It looks slick and runs really good.
I still haven't run into any big heating or cooling issues yet…

but I figure I might get ahead of the curve. I mainly play WOW, Valheim, League and No Mans Sky's. I also do a lot of photoshop and editing.
I'm thinking I might be putting in the noctuca in next weekend.

    I've also added 2 x 16 and I'm going to adding more Vengeance 32GB DDR5 5200MHz CL40 Dual Channel Kit (2x 16GB), Black

Also thinking of getting 3 noctuca fans, thinking of putting 2 up top and 2 on the cpu cooler

Be aware that the 5200MHz memory won't be as fast as your expect, since XMP doesn't seem to be working on the PO5 models. It will run at 4400 instead, the base speed for that memory. You are likely to find the JEDEC DDR5 memory at the stock speed will be less expensive.

@billsey yeah I'm aware. It's what I got from a buddy. So thinking just buying a matching set.

just so ya know, when you have 4 matched sticks they run@4000mhz, mixed memory runs at 2000mhz, and 2 matched sticks run at 4400mhz, and we cant use 2x32 in our MB's thats why to max out at 64 ya have to do 4x16, if ya want the true speed the memory is capable of you need a new MB, and with the stock cooler i was getting 63C on my games-Days Gone-Terminator Resistance-RDR2 just to name a few@max settings@1080P@240hz and cinebenchr23 was 85C ,now the games are 43 and cinebench is 63, so yeah adding the cooler and extra fans make a HUGE difference BUT i only do my testing and gaming with predator sense in GAMING mode=fans full blast to get those temps.
