My Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH315-55-795C) is fully shutting off when I close the lid.

I have all the power plan settings set to "do nothing". It doesn't turn off if I close the lid and open it back up quickly, but if I leave it closed for like a minute or more it's shut completely off when I open it. It's also having issues starting back up afterwards, where I'll press the power button and the power and turbo lights come on for a second and then go off. Holding down the power button for a minute seems to help sometimes but not always. Thank you for any help!

It is a hardware issue: loose cable, bad contact or a very unstable adapter/CPU, modern laptops are built to sustain big shocks, I dropped my 4 year old Aspire5 15" laptop several times from 5 feet high on stone floors, the case opened the screen panel popped out of the lid but it kept broadcasting a news show online, no power issues, no Windows crashing or BSOD. Bring or send your laptop to Acer Services for checking and explain in detail what the problem is and what you already checked.

Update: I don't think it's the computer lid being closed that's making it shut off. It almost seems like it's turning off when I move it. I had it open and picked it up to move it to my lap and it shut off. I recently opened it and unplugged/replugged the battery when I was trying to get it to turn on so I know the battery cable is connected. Very confused.

A couple of things here, you want the laptop go to sleep or hibernate when you close the lid, use the Balanced power plan and leave the defaults setting alone: having "everything" to do nothing may cause power conflicts. Run the troubleshooter "Power problems" and that will reset all the advanced settings.

On the shutdown issue (when you move the laptop), check if the adapter plug is seated properly, you should feel a click when the plug is fully inserted in the DC barrel port of your laptop and it must be a tight fit, not hanging loose, very easy to plug in and not requiring any force. If the laptop or charging light reacts when you touch/move the plug a bit get a new power adapter fully compatible with your laptop model ($25).

Does the laptop shuts down when you unplug the power adapter? If so you have a dead battery, create a Battery Report in Windows and check the charge history over the last 3 days.

My biggest issue at the moment is that it won't turn on. I don't think it has anything to do with the charger, it just seems to be shutting off when I move the laptop even when I don't have the charger plugged in. It's 90+% charged. t won't turn on with or without the charger plugged in.

I don't think the charger is the issue. It was unplugged at 90+% battery when I picked it up and it shut off immediately when I was moving it. My biggest problem now is that it's not wanting to turn on again whether i have it plugged in or not. Just the power and turbo lights coming on for a couple seconds and then going off.

The computer isn't shutting off when the lid is closed, according to the latest development. When I move it, it nearly seems to be shutting off. When I took it up to put it on my lap while it was open, it turned off. I know the battery wire is connected because I recently opened it and plugged and removed the battery while trying to get it to turn on. Extremely perplexed.

So I tried taking off the back and fully removing the battery, ram and ssds and unplugging/replugging a couple cables and leaving everything out for about 30 minutes. After I put it back together it's been working perfectly. Hopefully it continues to work.

But it may happen again, and did with my laptop, what keeps me going is no longer completely shut down (normal boot or Fast Startup) but hibernate instead which is the same as Fast Startup (boots even faster with an HDD) but instead of dumping the system to RAM it saves it on disk. Works like a charm with my 4 year old Aspire 5. I even hide Shutdown in the Start Power menu (with Regedit) so I cannot click on it by mistake, you have to enable hibernate in the Power Plan to show in start.

I still have like 8 months left on my warranty so I'll definitely contact Acer if I keep having issues but I'm just going to see what happens.
