I just recently found my acer aspire v 15 touch v3, and when I powered it up, it showed a message requiring me to repair something? Anyone have any advice?

This is a boot problem that your laptop has, I understand that you are unable to boot to Windows with the Boot error 0xc000014c. I would suggest you take the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    • Go into the bios > Boot and set the boot order to USB HDD
    • Insert the installation USB media and boot the laptop, as the boot manager is missing.
    • Follow the path: Trouble Shoot > Advanced Options >Command Prompt
    • Enter the following command line to check the disk partition for errors: chkdsk/f /r X:( drive letter)
    • Try using the following command lines to rebuild the BCD store and see if the laptop boots.

                 CMD> bootrec /scanos

                 CMD> bootrec /rebuildbcd

                 CMD> bootrec /fixmbr

                 CMD> bootrec /fixboot

Let us know if the above recommendation was helpful.

It sounds like your Acer Aspire V 15 Touch V3 laptop may have encountered an error or issue while it was powered off, which is causing the message you're seeing on startup. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

Read the message carefully: The message you're seeing should provide more information about what needs to be repaired or fixed. Take a close look at the message and try to understand what it's telling you. If you're not sure what to do, you may want to search online for more information about the error message.

Run a system diagnostic: Most laptops have built-in diagnostic tools that can help you identify and fix common issues. Try running a diagnostic on your Acer laptop to see if it can identify the problem and suggest a solution. You can usually access these tools by pressing a specific key combination during startup or by using a program provided by the laptop manufacturer.

Boot into Safe Mode: If your laptop is having trouble starting up normally, try booting into Safe Mode. This will start your laptop with a minimal set of drivers and services, which can help you identify and resolve issues. You can usually access Safe Mode by pressing a specific key combination during startup.

Perform a system restore: If you're still having trouble after trying the above steps, you may want to try restoring your laptop to an earlier point in time. This will roll back your laptop's settings and configuration to a previous state, which can help resolve issues that have occurred since that time. You can usually access the System Restore tool from the Windows Control Panel.

I recommend that you bring or send your laptop to Acer Service, they will reinstall OEM Windows, and drivers for free if under warranty or a small service fee ($25). I don't trust computer repair shops.😉

First look at this guide How to Get to Windows 10's Advanced Startup and try to get into the Advanced options and fix the boot files at cmd prompt or Start-up Repair , within the Advance options to fix the boot problems.

If you can’t get into Advanced options, then build a Rufus 3.22 USB Win-10 bootable installation USB, and try to get into the Advanced otions that way or with this USB you can reinstall windows as a Clean Install also.

With Rufus, its best to download the Win11_22H2_English_x64v1.ISO file from Microsoft first, as its allot quicker to do the Rufus bootable installation USB, as and if you download the Win-10 .ISO file first it will be quicker, as Rufus also downloads the Win-10 installation .ISO file but its allot slower. Do all that and then turn your laptop off and boot the laptop with the Rufus USB as then you can get into the Advanced otions or start the windows installation files.
