Acer Travelmate stuck at windows loading screen

I have an Acer Travelmate with an Intel i5 10th gen with

an exp gdc 8.5c and a rx 590. After installing everything

and trying to boot up it gets stuck on the windows

loading screen. It stutters a few time in the loading

screen and just gets stuck there. When I tried to boot up

the laptop #with only the cable attached (ngff) it did the

same thing. But with the cable out it booted normally.

However, when I got into the bios with the GPU plugged

in the serial number and some other info was all like this

weird u shape (ü) something like that. I have pxe boot to

lan disabled. Any help?

Sorry, this older eVGA adapter might not be compatible with newer wifi m.2 card sockets. What is your full TravelMate model number? For example, P214-52? You can however try to follow this tutorial.

Reset this PC and keep my files
1. Shutdown the unit. Press and hold alt+F10 key. Then turn ON the unit.
2. You will get a blue screen. Choose the option troubleshoot.

3. Select Keep my files to refresh your PC and reinstall your operating system without removing your personal files. Click Next to continue. Important If you have apps installed on your PC, they will be removed.
4. Resetting the PC will reinstall Windows, change settings back to their factory defaults and remove all preinstalled apps and programs without removing your personal files. Click Reset to continue.
5. You will be shown the reset progress on the screen. The screen will turn off during the reset process.
6. The screen will turn back on when it is installing Windows. Your PC will restart several times during the reset process.
7. Follow the process until it completes.
8. When your PC has completed the reset process, Windows will have been reset back to its factory default settings without removing your personal files.

It is infact an Acer Travelmate p214-52. I'm planning to downgrade to windows 10 and do a fresh install of Windows 10 because according to a lot of people windows 11 can be quite tricky to work with. Thanks

I'm planning to get a different drive for my gaming preferences. I know it sounds janky but I'll be getting a different m.2 and installing windows 10 on that because I currently have windows 11. I'm not trying to risk my personal files if anything goes wrong. Because I'll just use the other drive for games. I know it sounds like a hassle but I can live with it. Thanks -

Yes Win11 is still a work in progress. But so is Win10. Updates are still coming fast and furious for both versions. I suspect this older eVGA might work with Win10 versions earlier than 2018. A subsequent Win10 update will probably mess it again but you might be able to identify it with Control Panel's restore point app and possibly block it

Acer Support has Windows 11 drivers for your model laptop, you have been ill advised about W11 being more difficult than W10, there is no such thing. Even if you manage to roll back to W10 you will have to upgrade to W11 in Q4 2025 as W10 will be no longer supported by MS. W11 takes a few weeks to get used to, most new gadgets/looks can be disabled or tweaked to your liking. Not only is the security superior, W11 will maintain all your drivers and is far more robust than W10 (no more Event Errors and Windows updates are fast and flawless)😀
